An Interdependent Global Movement

...That's the simple answer to the question, "What is the Nation of Earth?"

It is independent from the influences that currently run things here on Earth -- meaning, the power elite and the alien overlords behind them.

But hang on a minute. Alien overlords? In a word, yes.

We are not alone, and we have never been alone. Our very origin as a species is not completely Terrestrial -- but it is not anyone from the race that genetically engineered us that is chiefly responsible for the mess in which we find ourselves. Some of those guys (the Annunaki -- see the work of Zecharia Sitchin) might be minor players, but this mess is the work of others...

If you have ever thought, while learning about the horrendous things the elite do, that such acts were inhuman, well, you were right. Through a bit of genetic manipulation, the people in certain families lack some of the qualities that we associate with being Human. Add to that the phenomenon of something called richcraft, and the result is a small but powerful segment of the population who really don't care about the rest of us -- or even about the planet.

Now here comes the 'crazy' part, about 'alien overlords'...

Imagine a technologically advanced yet morally bereft megapopulation from another galaxy, who live considerably longer than Earthlings. Imagine that, as much as they want to gain a foothold here in the Milky Way, they have arcane methods of acquisition (because even they answer to someone else) and have plenty of time on their hands.

Now imagine that 'plenty of time' translates into hundreds of years, and ask yourselves how long ago it was that the families who now seem to own and/or control everything got their start.

Is this 'conspiracy theory'? I prefer the term 'conspiratology'. When they hide their conspiracies in plain sight, we don't have to theorize...

...and then when an investigative journalist begins to communicate telepathically with various aliens, more pieces of the puzzle come together. At this stage of the game, though, the overlords don't seem to care that more and more of us are aware of what is going on.

The thing is, their little game is very close to being over. Maybe they realize it, maybe they don't -- it doesn't matter.

We Earth Humans (with a little help) are about to break free from their oppression and enter into a new era, an era that some are calling the Golden Age.

The Golden Age will be one of unprecedented prosperity, and we will be introduced into 'galactic society'. War and poverty will be eliminated. Previously suppressed energy and propulsion technologies will be released. Our planet will be healed.

How do we get there from here?

That's where the word 'interdependent' comes into play. We will have to depend upon one another and cooperate on a global scale, and declare our everlasting freedom from those who would trick us into oppression.

This movement has been underway for some time, and this little project I have been calling the 'Nation of Earth' might as well have never begun. Perhaps as few as a hundred have heard of it -- it's a grain of sand in the Sahara. There are people everywhere, though, who have been thinking along the same lines, talking to one another, educating themselves and one another...

This movement will not be stopped. My role in it might prove to be little more than commentary, try as I may to get something going.

If anyone reading this thinks I must be completely insane, wait ten years. You'll see.

I see it's been about a month since I posted here -- but things have been developing over on the Nation of Earth member site.

Check it out. Join, and visit often.

Someone there sort of suggested I should do podcasts. Maybe...

What's going on with the Nation of Earth?

Good question. While awareness of my own corner of it may have recently grown exponentially, it's still a drop in the ocean. However I do feel that the member site is slowly growing into its potential.

As for the larger issue of what's going on with the People of Earth, I certainly hope more and more are beginning to get a sense that we are all in this together. Aware that I'm beginning to sound like a broken record on this point, nevertheless I'll repeat it: I do not care whether people call it "The Nation of Earth", don't mind if hardly anyone chooses to fly the late Jim Cadle's Flag of Earth, and I'm not looking to be recognized as any sort of leader or pioneer. I just know what I see, and am trying to do the right thing.

Beyond the Information Age, in the Golden Age to follow, what I see is global cooperative self-governance and unbridled prosperity for the People of Earth. This is what I have been calling the Nation of Earth. Call it what you will; It's on its way.

This blog's archives will show, if anyone cares to investigate, a long slow process on my part. Please be advised, the views expressed by my former self do not necessarily represent the views of my current and/or future self.

These days I'm completely unconcerned with government. Having caught a glimpse of how we will govern ourselves in the future, I see no use in bashing current governments and/or attempting to formulate some sort of alternative. When the time comes, all governments will crumble/dissolve/fade into, be replaced by, what can perhaps be described as a general consensus.

Compared to what we now know as government, it will look like no government at all. Anarchy? Bite your tongue.

Oops, don't want to offend well-meaning anarchists, those who know what 'anarchy' actually means...

For lack of a better term, yes I call it 'cooperative self-governance'. This is a very loose system indeed. Imagine people within an agrarian society discussing and then agreeing on what will benefit them all. Go ahead and think of Amish communities if you like, but picture everyone in the meeting being under the influence of psychedelic mushrooms.

Oops again. That will be lost on you if you've never been in a state where you can almost tell what will happen next, and nothing could possibly be an accident, and communication is nearly (if not totally) telepathic.

It is the stuff of dreams, indeed, but that's what I see.

Another thing I see is that the purposes of this blog and the Nation of Earth Google group are now merged on the Nation of Earth member site -- and now we come to the subject line of this blog entry.

While I have no intention of shutting either down, each has shown a lack of activity. It's all about the member site now, and I consider this a significant upgrade.

what the future holds, and how we'll get there

Quote from a recent e-mail I sent: "My hope is that a positive vision of the future, combined with a firm assertion that such a future is eminently attainable and an explanation of how we can get there, will help ease the Transition."

Easier said than done, to be sure...

Yet again I find myself deferring to Wade Frazier and his multitudinous pages, specifically this one: http://www.ahealedplanet.net/visions.htm#can1 As with most of Wade's site, though, it's a lot to take in, too much for most to be able to digest.

If we're going to play to the masses (eventually), the message will have to resemble a well-produced 15-second TV commercial -- in that it will have to grab the attention, deliver the message simply and succinctly, and sell the idea.

For now the audience is much, much smaller, just the several of us here and whomever may drop in -- so the message can be less polished...

What does the future hold?

From every indication, in the short term things are going to continue to be difficult and frustrating, horrific at times. Some things cannot be prevented. I personally expect the tides to begin turning continue to turn (yes, I've already seen evidence of positive change). We are a People undergoing a Transition, and it's about damn time. If we had continued down the path that was laid out for us, it would have led to our destruction.

It isn't necessary for us to have to face the worst imaginable before we can enjoy the best. We don't need to be marched through Hell on Earth on the way to Heaven on Earth.

Am I talking about 'Utopia'? Absolutely -- but not in the literal definition. On the other side of Transition is the 'Golden Age'. The People of Earth will be truly free, living in harmony with our planet and one another. Technology will play an important role, the most important bit being free energy. We won't need a monetary system at all, not even a global electronic one.

There will be no reason for us NOT to make use of robotics for any and all tasks for which we can think of applying them. For anything and everything else, there will be someone who either doesn't mind or actually enjoys doing what needs to be done -- or at worst, we'll roll up our sleeves when we have to.

Government? How much of it do we really need? Some would say none at all -- and that actually begins to make sense in an abundance-based society. It makes even more sense in a society where people have become telepathic...

How will we get there?

None of this will happen overnight. What would be great is if a group of people got together and established a futuristic self-sustaining colony in an inhospitable environment somewhere on Earth -- for example, in a desert in the American Southwest (or even in the Sahara). Any location would do, but an inhospitable one would be more impressive. The colony could serve as an example for future living, all bright and shiny and harmonious.

Maybe you're thinking Biosphere II. If you are, you're not far off -- but no one would have to agree to being sealed inside for any length of time, and it would not be an experiment.

Failing that, I'm sure several individuals and groups will be presenting digital plans for such colonies. Likely, someone already has. Several already have.

While it will be helpful to have such examples (and while I do expect people to begin living that way, more and more, it will not be the ONLY way) there remain a great number of things to be addressed.

I'd rather not try to list them. For anyone who has given much thought to this problem, they are self-evident.

It's become painfully clear that those of us on the front lines of the movement are like Dorothy and her companions, that the People of Earth are like the people of Oz, and we need a Toto to pull back the curtain and reveal the Wizard.

'Toto' of course means 'everything'... Suddenly I have new respect for L. Frank Baum.

We will get there by changing the paradigm. This is underway, and this site is intended to be part of the process...

I still have more questions than answers. HELP!!

a new look, and a new paradigm

First... Yes, I've finally changed the look and layout of this blog. The main text area of the template I was using was frustratingly narrow, so I've copied & pasted (& modified) the custom template from one of my other blogs, Tellurian Motors. Then I created a new banner, using the waving Flag of Earth from the Nation of Earth member site. I may continue to refine the look of these pages...

Now, about that new paradigm...

I've known for a long time now that 'free energy' would be associated with our transition, and that after the transition we will begin to realize 'Heaven on Earth'. What hadn't occurred to me -- or what I hadn't fully realized -- was that the very allowance of 'free energy' technology would prove to be the key.

The steps involved seem fairly clear to me now, but it wasn't until I revisited Wade Frazier's site that I really put things together.

Before we can begin to transform our world into something resembling Utopia, the 'free energy' cat has to be, at long last, let out of the bag.

The 'Big Boys' have been keeping that cat in that bag for a very long time. He might claw his way out on his own, very soon...

What happens, is that WHEN 'free energy' is finally allowed, and people can finally purchase devices that produce electricity "out of thin air", not only other technologies but society itself will become transformed.

As Wade Frazier points out, all economies are based on energy -- and we exist inside a paradigm of scarcity. When energy becomes abundant, the paradigm will begin to change. Before long we will all be living with that new paradigm, the paradigm of abundance.

Many of us share a vision of the future where money has become obsolete and everyone has access to more than they need. No one goes without, population numbers are no longer a problem -- and since there is no longer anything to fight over, war has become a thing of the past. It is a future where Love rules.

Okay, wait a minute... War becomes a thing of the past because the abundance paradigm sets everyone free from the manipulation of the elite. After all it has never been the people who have initiated wars, but the ruling class. In a society based on abundance, the people won't put up with that nonsense.

...But you want to know how the ubiquity of a new technology will change everything so drastically. Okay... Remember how life was, let's say, a quarter-century ago? Most everyone had to use telephones connected to wires, and hardly anyone had a personal computer. The internet existed, but wasn't nearly the 'information highway' it is now. If you're reading this, you will probably have difficulty imagining yourself back in 1984, having to live without the technology we enjoy today. Compared to the difference between 1984 and a quarter-century further back, 1959, we have 'progressed' by leaps and bounds. ONE aspect, our increased connectivity and everything else our advances in electronics have brought us, is responsible for the drastic difference.

What the availability of as much energy as anyone could possibly use will do is almost beyond imagining. At first, the manufacture and sales of the devices will do amazing things for the economy. Everyone will want them, all around the world, so all around the world there will be new jobs associated with the development, manufacture, sales, installation and maintenance of these devices.

The devices themselves will be of various sizes and will harness the energy (which some call 'zero-point energy', and is all around us, all the time) in different ways, and will have differing output levels. Some will power a house, or a business. Others may power the very factories that produce the devices, and still others will be small enough to power small electronic devices. In between will be the ones that will power our vehicles -- a new class of electric vehicles that never need to be recharged, and have unlimited range.

Still, though, we don't see how this energy abundance will fundamentally transform Humanity. That's a tough one...

First of all, the very release of the technology from its suppression will mean that somehow, the 'Big Boys' have become convinced of the err of their ways. They've realized that they can invest in the technology in the short term, with great profit, then ride the wave with everyone else. All they'll be giving up is control -- and in compensation for that, they can retire early.

With the end of that particular and most important stranglehold, full disclosure can't be far behind. Anyone who cares to know will be able to find out what 'they' have been up to -- but hey, they were just doing what they thought they were supposed to be doing. No hard feelings, right?

For one thing we'll be informed of the thought processes behind the assassination of John Lennon -- why he was considered 'dangerous'...

Secondly, well, it's not easy to fathom how the abundance of energy will change things. You have to extrapolate...

With all the energy anyone can even think of using, we'll quickly apply it to automation. Robotics will become so sophisticated, they'll take away a ('nother) significant portion of our jobs -- but we won't mind. Robots will build robots, and eventually no one will have to work, because there will be enough people who want to do the things that need to be done by real people.

It will be your choice to go out and do something to help, maybe just because you're bored, or to explore whatever interests you have, or whatever.

In this scenario -- with unlimited energy taking away so many burdens -- you can see how the very concept of 'money' becomes meaningless.

Energy abundance will not be the only transformative influence -- but that's a whole other subject. Enough others are talking about those things...

ambassadors to the future

What do I mean by that? I could mean that all those who consider themselves members of the Nation of Earth are ambassadors to the future. That's not where I was going, but yeah, go ahead. Each of you is an Ambassador to the Future.

Physical 'embassies' of sorts are what I was thinking of. These could be the sort of places I wrote about in "City of Redemption", but whether they are built upon land reclaimed from mountaintop removal surface mining is unimportant (as much as I like that idea). They would be as self-sustaining as is practicable, flying the Flag of Earth, with denizens practicing methods of the future for everything from power generation to health care.

Visitors would be given tours, have methods and technology explained to them. Of paramount importance will be the idea of local sustainability, something that has been lost over the past century or so with massive industrialization, and redistribution and extreme specialization of the population.

I didn't grow up on a farm, but Mom did. Grandpa had a nice spread, where he raised Black Angus. There was a milk cow, and there were chickens. He and Grandma had a nice orchard and a fairly large garden. He even had a couple of horses, I'm guessing in case something went wrong with the tractor (or the gasoline supply). A nearby river had fish. Water came from a well, and rain barrels. Heat and cooking were managed with cast iron stoves -- coal was used, but wood could have easily been substituted. There was electricity, and a phone line, but they were more conveniences than necessities.

That's sustainable living, folks.

Sadly (after his wife passed), instead of leaving the place to any or all of his descendants, he sold it to the millionaire 'inventor of cable television' with the proviso that he could live there for the rest of his life -- which wasn't long.

The place was big enough that several more houses could have been built, the garden and orchard expanded, and all of his sons & daughters and their children could have resided there if they chose to, yeah, me and all my aunts and uncles and cousins, and the next generation after that, and so on. Everyone had already gone their separate ways, though, and there was no one to tend the farm.

I am left to imagine how it may have been, if only one of his eight children had expressed enough interest in what Grandpa established. It was solid. Brilliant -- if only in retrospect.

As far back as the time of his passing, in the mid-Seventies, solar heating could have been introduced. At any point 'high tunnels' and/or greenhouses could have been added. By now an elaborate system of rainwater collection (and even a little drafting from the adjacent river) could have been coupled with a solar-heated distillation facility, with a remineralization module to supply excellent drinking water.

Any water can be processed for re-use, even from sewage.

If my grandfather, R. L. Bain, were here right now, I imagine we could have a wonderful conversation of how to optimize the resources of the land he used to own. I think he would agree that, if managed properly, the land could sustain all his descendants -- while showing a profit. Stubborn as he was, he would be quick to embrace more efficient methods -- so long as they didn't rely too much on the outside world.

Our future relies on our past. To succeed and prosper, we are going to have to take a close look at the methods of our ancestors -- and improve upon them. Using the latest technology and sharing the best methods with one another, we can maintain sustainability into the decades and centuries yet to come.

Along the way we will need to embrace 'forbidden' technology. As our population expands beyond what our Earth can comfortably sustain, many of us will have to colonize Space. Making use of technology that has been kept secret, we can construct 'motherships' and spacefaring vessels of various sizes, even move to other planets. There is, theoretically, no limit.

Even ONE 'embassy to the future' will be a good start. I'd like to establish such a place, and even have a location in mind.

The questions are these:

Would you be willing to leave your current life behind, to join an effort meant to show the way for the future?
Can you cast aside the dispersions of friends & family, and be assured that what you are doing will make a difference, or at least ensure your own survival?
Are you willing and able to depart from conventional thinking, to embrace ideas that have been suppressed by capitalism/fascism/oligarchy?
Would you move hundreds or thousands of miles to be a part of the project?
Would you mind lending a hand wherever it is needed?
Do you have any faith in the idea of a sustainable colony, here on Earth?
Are you willing to suggest changes & improvements, if you see the need for them?
Do you subscribe to the idea that we are all ONE, regardless of ethnicity, nationality, or background?
Can you see that what we will be doing will be important to the future of Humans on Earth (and beyond)?
Are you willing to give feedback on how well the robotics are working, so they can be more efficient and allow us more liesure time?

The future is ours. How we spend it is up to us. New ground is ready to be broken. Anyone, anywhere, can be prosperous with the proper knowledge. By establishing an exemplary colony, and others to follow, we can show the way. It's all about sustainability, and room for growth.

We can do this.

Will it happen?

It could. It can. Time will tell.

The Human Instrument

THE HUMAN INSTRUMENT

I didn't know how it was going to happen, just that it would. Before that, I wasn't even sure it would happen, and was looking for a way to bring it about. Pieces of the puzzle keep falling into place...

I'm not the only one talking about something like the Nation of Earth. That's just what I eventually decided to call it, and even then I knew my vision of the future was far from unique. This thing that is happening is indeed a thing that's happening, and the transition has already begun.

I'm writing this a few days after following a link to a text interview that, despite its length, I consider required reading: http://projectcamelot.org/james_wingmakers_sovereign_integral.html

In that ream of text you will find the term sovereign integral, the meaning of which is a significant step beyond 'sovereign individual' -- we are all individuals, but we are all integral to the First Source...

You may be familiar with the idea of ascension, and even mass ascension. You may understand that we as a people must be much, much more evolved than we currently seem to be, before we can be inducted into Galactic Society (or whatever you want to call it). You may have a vague idea about how this will happen, and that vision may involve a mass increase in psychic abilities...

You may, as I do, see a beautiful future -- a Golden Age -- waiting just around the corner.

Well? How do we get there?

To do this, it seems, we have a monumental task before us. We must literally redefine ourselves. Right now we might think we know who we are, and where we came from -- but all our recorded history, and all our mythology, is only part of the story. We are more than what we seem -- to ourselves, if to no one outside our realm...

...Or should I say 'prison'?

Each of us is an individual expression of First Source. Whether we realize it or not, we are all connected -- to one another, and to everything. In the interview something called the 'Human Mind System' is mentioned over and over. James (the interviewee) tells us that it includes the subconscious and unconscious as well as the conscious -- everything we experience, in waking and dreaming and even in astral travel. Even between lives, our souls are trapped in the system.

Did you ever believe in Santa Claus? Did you ever believe in anything that later turned out not to be real -- or at least not as you thought it to be? After the illusion is shattered, it still takes time to adjust. Take your time.

We've been told over and over that we need to 'wake up', but being 'awake' and aware of how things really are on this planet isn't enough. Sure, it would help if the vast majority of our population wasn't in the dark, but even if everyone was 'awake' in that sense, we are all still living within the Human Mind System.

We would still not be able to realize our full potential, still be fooling ourselves about who and what we really are. It would be like dreaming about waking up, and dismissing the alarm as something else while we continue to dream.

I'm not going to go on about our true origin, or how we ended up this way. It's all in the interview. You may or may not be able to accept everything that is laid out there. You may not even decide to follow the link -- but I hope you do.

As more and more of us shed the Human Mind System, it will become easier for the rest. This will take several years. Difficult times are ahead. Call them 'End Times' if you must, but I prefer to see what is beginning.

I've known about this first site for several months, but put off exploring it. There was a time when I wanted to be the one to make the Flag of Earth available again... It's not like I don't want anyone to be able to order one unless it's from me, but I failed to follow through on that, so it was a sore spot... At least I got some T-shirts made...

Found something today while seeing if a search for my new member site (now approaching full functionality) would bring it up... ONE NATION EARTH is what it's called... Little there but fancy flash and a link, so far, but the link takes you to a MySpace page -- and yes I've sent a friend request...

Back to the One Nation Earth site... Something there bothers me. If you watch the flash long enough you'll see it says, among other things, 'one god' and 'one religion'. This is just as unacceptible as saying NO god and NO religion. Personally I think there is something out there (and in here, and everywhere) that for a lack of a better word we can call 'God', but I do not subscribe to any religion and certainly wouldn't want to foist one off on everyone else.

Explore the MySpace page and within the "Who I'd like to meet" section you'll see it says "I believe it's time for all of us to realize that there is only One True Religion in this Life called... Love." Well, that's fine -- but dude, please remove the misleading and potentially offensive 'one god' and 'one religion' from your official site. It would also be a good idea to revert to an earlier version of your profile, dude -- the beta version isn't working very well (at least in Google Chrome)...

Perhaps I should be more actively searching for sites that mirror the Nation of Earth outlook, and perhaps I will, and perhaps some of them will be worthwhile...

ANNOUNCING A NEW SITE

New Earth Nation site launched last night, 10_10/11_08: http://earthnation.fatedtoend.com/

This is a place where anyone can join and begin posting content. If necessary, restrictions will be administered -- but for now it is completely open. We may expect exposure to be minimal, generating a small but growing membership, in which case the site can remain unrestricted... One never knows, though...

I'm administering it myself (with sporadic help) so complete functionality and full features may take a while. Things to look forward to are friendly links, a chat box, and a forum. Members will be able to post entries with text and images, as in a multi-contributor blog.

The site would not be possible without the magnanimity and technical expertise of my friend and server host, 'Yaddoshi'. Mad props and much gratitude.

Come Wednesday (the 15th) Mercury will be out of retrograde again and we can be a little less confused...

This Earth Nation site could spark a new beginning for the Unified Settlement / Nation of Earth subculture, who so far have had little more than a basic forum...

It has potential.

City of Redemption

OPPORTUNITY

Go to Google Maps, and in Satellite mode, zoom in on southern West Virginia and/or eastern Kentucky. You'll find some odd grey patches. Zoom in closer and you may be puzzled by these features, until you realize they are the result of a mining practice known as mountaintop removal -- at which point you may become quite horrified.

You might even be brought to tears. The Appalachians are the oldest mountains on Earth, but the coal companies (and by extension, government) show them no respect.

Protest as we might, they keep blasting. One of the reasons they manage to get away with it is that the mountains in question are in remote, sparsely-populated areas. Even with acreage akin to that of small cities in some cases, the sites are visited by almost no one except mine employees.

One oft-repeated placation about the practice is that it leaves behind flat land, in areas where flat land is at a premium. This much is true, certainly, and one can imagine a mine company executive looking around at one of these places after the coal is gone, thinking of all the things that could be done with the reshaped land...

Well, sure -- except that the sites are all fairly remote, with only very small towns nearby.

You'd have to build a whole community to take advantage of such a place.

...And there's the opportunity.

How nice would it be to be able to build something in the Appalachian Mountains, knowing you cannot possibly do any damage? These places are already ruined; You can't make them worse. Anything you do will be an improvement.

I know of at least one small airport, Big Sandy Regional, that was built on such remains. In the past, it has been necessary to use cut-and-fill to build and expand airports in West Virginia...

In general, these beautiful mountains have indeed been an obstacle. There is only room for so much -- so yeah, the coal companies have that part right. Someone could build a resort -- or an entire resort town. A corporation could theoretically move its headquarters to one of these places, relocating hundreds of employees...

Or, if there was backing for such a project, a nearly self-sustaining planned community could be built. There is room for all of these things and more, and there is the architectural opportunity of a lifetime attached to any one of them...

In this setting, with still-untouched mountains all around, imagine architecture that looks like it came from science fiction, surrounded by lush vegetation. Imagine having everything you need close by, even though you're living in a place that was previously 'far from civilization'. Imagine the satisfaction of being part of the reclamation of land torn asunder by greed. The coal companies are required to 'restore' the land to a certain extent, and Mother Nature would take over in full force eventually, but in the right hands...

Mountaintop removal is an abomination. It should be stopped. However there is no reason not to take full advantage of the sites left behind.

Optimism

Over time, we learn.

I can only speak for myself, but this has been my experience -- and I certainly hope the majority shares this experience.

From something I've learned recently, my optimism has been reinforced. It seems that the secret societies of the East have decided to assert themselves, and refuse to allow the secret societies of the West to continue on their previous course.

That course, that path, was one of destruction. Rumours of its machinations have been spreading for decades, spawning many dire predictions. Some of those may yet come true -- but overall, the picture has changed dramatically.

We sit back and watch, wondering when and if the economy of the United States of America will collapse, whether there will be a new currency, and whether it will be shared with Mexico and Canada, within a North American Union.

It's not difficult to understand why North Americans in general (and it seems, Canadians in particular) are apprehensive to say the least about the possibility of the formation of something like the NAU. Looking at the way government has been run over the past century or so, who can blame them?

One viewpoint is that the formation of the NAU would bring us all one step (Giant leap?) closer to the "New World Order", wherein secret government would hold the entire world in its clutches. The more you know (or think you know) about the plans of the conspirators, the darker our future appears...

Hang on a minute. Does it have to be that way? Couldn't the union of these three countries be an opportunity to implement the kind of oversight each of their governments could seriously use? Might it not, possibly, allow us to reduce the stain of corruption?

In the past, we could have been almost certain that such a union would only lead to more corruption and take control farther away from the hands of the people. We could not have known, could merely have hoped, that some force for positive change would come along...

...and now it has.

The secret societies of the East have entirely different motivations from those of the West. Genocide, for one thing, is not on their agenda. A reduction of the world's population, to them, seems neither necessary nor desirable. War is off the table. Though they may rule with an iron fist, they believe in balance and harmony.

They have made it clear that any member of Western secret government who 'misbehaves' will be dealt with, Ninja-style.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter what form of government we have, secret or otherwise, as long as our needs are properly met. Mostly, as a species we need to keep ourselves from destroying the planet -- and each other. Eventually, I would like to think, whatever form of government we will have will be a transparent one, and no larger than necessary.

As the title of this blog suggests, I would very much like to see the people of this planet unified -- by choice. Inch by inch, we're getting there.

Is It Fictional?

I've begun to wonder if anyone thought so. At this point the Nation of Earth is still conceptual, to be certain...

What do we do with concepts? If you've seen my Tellurian Motors blog, you know I sometimes draw them -- but those are mere automotive concepts, and it seems I can spend more time on a description than on a sketch. Can I sketch the Nation of Earth? Maybe, but I'm not sure how, so I write about it.

Recently a new friend (as only a new friend can do) got me to reexamine my life. What was I doing with it? Well, I got to thinking about the things I like to do, that I'm also fairly good at, and that could be listed as actual occupations -- and out of those, the one that suits me best is writing. I decided to take a short story I started last February, and turn it into a novel.

I figured, since it was set in the near future, within the novel I could describe my vision -- where Earth Humans have become united against, and have overcome, the oppressive influences of the few over the many...

However as I began to place my main character in a new setting something very unexpected, astonishing, and important happened. In my musings, I stumbled upon a technology that has the power to transform our lives -- and our global society -- more than anything has before!

No, I can't tell you about it. What I CAN tell you is that it will make sense, within the novel at least, how something like that can be the catalyst for a peaceful global unification -- and then admittance into 'Galactic Society'.

At first I was so caught up in the ramifications, so absorbed with what all this would mean to my protagonist, and dealing with all the new developments, that I couldn't write anything but notes in e-mails to a couple of close friends (my oldest, and my newest -- you know who you are). I knew that anything I wrote could quickly become obsolete, so I decided to wait out the hectic holiday season and now...

For now it's all settled down in my head, and the kids will very soon be back in school, so then as I sit here in front of this screen as I almost invariably do I'll be laying down pages.

ONE HUNDRED STARS

In this post I will be presenting the case -- from my perspective -- for the North American Union. If you are offended at the very mention of such a thing, please bear with me and try to keep an open mind.

First of all, let me tell you that I am as opposed as anyone to any cryptocratic plan of merging Canada, Mexico, and the United States into a new and larger oligarchy. If they were allowed to form the union from the top down, present 'leaders' would be able to continue to trample upon the rights of the People. It would be yet another case of too few holding power over too many, and on a larger scale. No surprise that this idea would not be well-received.

If the union were to be formed from the bottom up, however, we would have the opportunity to, in effect, peaceably overthrow the national governments of all three countries -- emphasis on 'PEACEABLY'. The 99 States, Provinces, and Territories that comprise Canada, Mexico, and the United States could theoretically form a new government to replace the constitutional monarchy of Canada, the federal republic of Mexico, and the transparent oligarchy pretending to be a republic in between. This could be seen as a preemptive measure, taken to ensure the rights of the individual States, Provinces, and Territories and the rights of the People.

The title of this post refers to my idea for a flag for the North American Union (or my idea of what the NAU could be), which is a field of 100 white stars against a blue background. 10 Canadian Provinces, 3 Territories; 31 Mexican States; 50 United States, 5 Territories = 99. We'll throw an extra one in there in case I missed something...

HISTORY

Before the Mexican-American War, a large section of the current southwestern United States was part of Mexico. Disputes over the boundaries of the former Republic of Texas (itself once part of Mexico) started the war, during which some supported the idea of annexing the entire country. Mexico lost almost half of its territory to the United States. Just imagine how strong Mexico would be now, if it had retained its original borders... Or, imagine if all of Mexico had been annexed.

In 1849, the Montreal Annexation Manifesto was published by Canadians in support of breaking ties with Great Britain and joining the United States, but the movement lasted no longer than five years (though it has never completely died out). Once again, imagine.

Over the span of a decade in the middle of the 19th Century, these three countries could have become one. 150 years later, the possibility returns...

In 2005, the South American Community of Nations was formed. On April 16th of this year, its name was changed to "Union of South American Nations". Its population exceeds that of the USA by over 70 million.

These multinational unions have been popping up all over the world. Various agreements between the three major nations of North America can be considered to be precursors to a North American Union. Some say it's inevitable.

How much can we learn from the existing unions? Can we avoid the mistakes they've made? Is there a way for us to ensure a better future for all North Americans, by forming our own union? Do we dare leave it up to the heads of our current governments?

JUST MY OPINION

I say, before 'they' have a chance to put us all in a triple headlock, we should join hands between Nunavut and Chiapas, and from Guam to Newfoundland, to form a union not of our three countries, but of all our 99 States, Provinces, and Territories. This may be our one opportunity to throw the establishment out on its collective ear.

It may also be an opportunity to form a new kind of union, one with more localized representation within its supranational body. Further, it could lay the groundwork for truly representational government within a future Global Union.

Of course we do not want a Global Union, or even a North American Union, unless we can know that such a body will not contribute to the growing problem of political corruption. Quite the opposite -- what we want is to be forever free from the shadow of the "New World Order". To accomplish that, we may have to institute a new order of our own.

THE GOOD NEWS

The good news is that Chrysler plans to reveal three new concept vehicles at the Detroit show in January that indicate they have a clue as to the direction in which the automotive industry is inevitably headed. However only one of them is a pure electric; The other two are evidence that Chrysler still has a lot to learn.

I'm sure there's better news out there, and a lot of it...

THE BAD NEWS

Not all of this will be 'news' to all of you...

You may be aware, or may have suspected, that AIDS was engineered; You may or may not have understood WHY. Well, it seems that the powers that be have had a depopulation agenda for several decades, one that borders on being a plan for genocide. For some unfathomable reason, not only AIDS but orchestrated famine and localized warfare are being implemented to reduce a specific population, one race in particular.

Personally, I would be much less offended at a plan to reduce the GENERAL population -- which is not to say there isn't one, an unwholesome one at that. Targeting a specific race for 'reduction' is bigotry in its worst possible form.

Learning of this brings new light to Katrina. If you ever wondered why things were handled they way they were in New Orleans after the storm, well, you know what skin color most of the victims had. Once again, if it doesn't make you sick enough that people's lives are given so little regard...

While we're on the subject of engineered weather, consider this season's cyclones. Southeast Asia has been hit hard with typhoon after typhoon, while we've seen a mild season over on this hemisphere. A climatologist may try to ponder the reasons for this (and may even come up with an 'explanation'), but someone who has accepted engineered weather as fact is left to wonder what the powers that be are up to...

Maybe they think that we in the 'West' need a break from this particular sort of 'natural' disaster, and maybe they also think that Southeast Asia is a 'good' place to continue depopulation efforts. Don't think for a moment that they'll stop using their equipment. They've got to mess with the weather somewhere, and it's bound to be bad for someone.

I can't convince you of the reality of weather control if you don't want to accept it, but please know that it wouldn't be so glaringly obvious to me if there weren't some logic behind it. Look up Project Storm Fury. Then ask yourself why such a program would be halted.

While it would make sense to anyone of sound mind to continue to develop weather control for the obvious benefits it could bring to Humankind, it makes perfect sense to the twisted minds of the power-hungry to deny its existence while developing it as a weapon. Throw in the idea of racially-skewed "population control" and maybe you'll recognize Katrina as having been a planned disaster -- and you'll understand why FEMA failed so miserably. They were meant to.

THE CHALLENGE

When I first thought of the Unified Settlement, I never imagined the depths to which the cryptocracy can sink. As the information trickles in, we find more and more evidence that 'they' are indeed 'out to get us'. The people (if we can call them that, soulless as they appear to be) who are ultimately in control of all those things which affect everyone else the most, do not seem to care one bit about their fellow Humans. I cannot imagine, for the life of me, how anyone can view their actions as being for the greater good.

The challenge before us is to remove these 'people' from power. We must take away their ability to control the weather. We must obliterate their influence over governments. We must keep them from influencing the media in any way or form. We must keep them from formulating and utilizing biological weapons of any kind. We must expose their secrets, especially those relating to technology that can be used to further the sustainable future of Humankind and our present habitat, Planet Earth.

We do NOT have a population problem. Regardless of how our number may grow over the coming decades and centuries, we will be able to find solutions and accommodate everyone. Population numbers are only a problem in the perception of those who wish to remain in control through deceptive manipulation.

Those behind the scenes are depriving us from a representative democracy, while attempting to fool us into believing one is in place. This cannot, and will not, stand. Either they will have to step things up and openly enslave us -- a situation from which we would be sure to revolt -- or they will have to succumb to the pressure of the People and become accountable.

Before the powers that be begin to think wide-scale martial law will be necessary (and don't think they haven't already planned for it, and thought it might be a handy way to help reduce the population) the People need to act -- and not in such a way as to provoke violence.

In order to be able to apply the proper amount of pressure, the People must be organized. It is not nearly enough for the many of us to be aware of what's going on, if we do not spread the word. Even if the majority of the population were aware, that in itself would not be enough. We need a (peaceful) plan of action, and we need to plan for several stages.

It is one thing to look at our situation and realize the only way to change it is by rallying millions to the cause, and it is another thing entirely to plan such a campaign. As much as I try to understand people, it's not my strong suit. However I have a few ideas...

GETTING STARTED

There was once a website up for the Unified Settlement, but the hosting for it dissolved before the name was changed to the Nation of Earth. I do have a free space provided by Google where I can create a Nation of Earth website, but I have yet to approach its development. Quite frankly, it's difficult to present the idea of this movement to those who have never heard of it -- but I'll try.

I feel we ought to recruit activist organizations, one by one, to become part of the Nation of Earth. There are a great many of them, all working in one way or another toward similar (and at times identical) goals -- imagine if they were all brought together, still doing what they have been, but as part of a larger movement...

At some point the movement will attract the attention and support of celebrities. Some of them will gladly spend time and money to produce video for the Nation of Earth. A feature-length DVD is not out of the question. You can see how well this could work to raise awareness -- but it's a ways down the line from where we are now.

As of this writing, there are perhaps two or three dozen people who have heard of the Nation of Earth, most of whom belong to small forums that I have initiated. My hope is that some of them will chime in, as they did in the early days of the Unified Settlement forum, with ideas and feedback.

Ideas and feedback are welcome from anyone reading this. I can't do this alone.

Alternative Government

Alternative Government

The word 'confederacy' is defined by Wiktionary simply as "an alliance", but of course it stirs up images of the War Between the States. If you describe the Nation of Earth as a Terran Confederation, expect people to compare it to the Wing Commander science fiction series...

We NEED a new confederacy.

Revisiting some of the things said back in the Unified Settlement era... This world's governments are out of control. They have gone beyond oligarchy, into outright cryptocracy. It would be of little use to try and fix our existing systems of government, since they are as puppets putting on a show -- while those who pull the strings from behind the scenes are the ones who profit.

What if people simply rejected their authority? Would that work? Sorry to say, individuals and entire groups can be persecuted for such 'disobedience'. We would need a considerable confederacy indeed to be able to face up to major governments.

So, what if people formed a global alliance? What if it grew to the point where almost everyone knew about its existence and what it stood for? What if they were so large in number, and so well-organized, that they could not be ignored?

What if their plan for an alternative system of government made so much sense that even some employees of existing governments gave up their posts and joined the call?

Could it just be possible, that existing world governments would be so overwhelmed by this movement that they would simply lay down their arms and hand over control, with no contest?

That is the dream. What we of the Nation of Earth are looking for, is a bloodless revolution.

Jim Cadle's Flag of Earth, the way I see it, should play a major role. Originated at the same time as the 'official' Earth Flag, it was first flown by Jim on May 17, 1970. Unlike the Earth Flag, the Flag of Earth uses colour & shape -- not a NASA photo -- to represent our planet. Flown at SETI sites around the world, it is a beautifully simple symbol for Earth and those who dwell upon her.

There is no better symbol for the Nation of Earth movement. I exchanged a few e-mails with Jim, before he passed, and know he would approve.

This post is a call to Humans everywhere who see our situation and want to change it. The Nation of Earth -- or whatever it may come to be called -- represents hope for the future of Humanity. Me? I imagined the movement, wrote a few things, and since have witnessed that it has already been happening and is likely to continue to happen with or without me. What I'm proposing here is that we get together and plan this thing out.

Eventually, a true rule by the People will be a reality, on a global basis. Question is, do we sit back and wait for it to happen, or do we actively work toward it?

What NAU?

What is scheduled for tomorrow?

I ask this question in two ways. Specifically, I want to know about Tuesday, October 16, 2007. Generally, I'm curious about what our cryptocracy has planned for the near future...

Tomorrow happens to be the 5th anniversary of the signing into law of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. It also happens to be the 45th anniversary of the beginning of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Does the date itself mean anything? Maybe not, but there's this thing going on in Oregon and elsewhere this week called 'Vigilant Shield'...

It has people worried. It looks to many as though this exercise, at the very least, is about preparedness for martial law. Some are even convinced that a 'dirty bomb' will be detonated in Portland. There is a general consensus that a war against Iran (and possibly Syria) is imminent.

Related to these concerns is the possible formation of a North American Union. Now, I'm all about unity, and on the surface I don't have a problem with becoming part of the NAU (though I'd bet Ameros to donuts that if I were Canadian, I would oppose it). The trouble with it is the question of how it will be run, and by whom.

With our Constitution already in tatters, how much worse can it get?

We certainly hope that by the time all the various multinational unions are merged into one Global Union, the People of Earth will have overcome the forces of cryptocracy. Or, perhaps that will happen shortly thereafter. I still believe in the vision of global freedom from oligarchy; Conversely, I still think we have a long and bumpy road ahead of us.

The Red, White, Blue, and Yellow Peril

The subject of this blog post MAY or MAY NOT become an issue. Let's hope it doesn't, but just in case...

Someone's assertion has come to my attention, that the shadow governments of the United States and China have been working on a plan for war -- yes, against one another. The very idea of it may seem preposterous, but to me it passes the intuitive reasoning test for plausibility... Now bear with me while I extrapolate...

About this time next year, unless we can do something about it, this new war will begin (according to the assertion).

The American 'Civil' War turned out to be bad for the economy, but soon thereafter arms manufacturers saw great profit in military contracts. There would not have been so many Colt 'Peacemaker' revolvers made otherwise.

Follow the money. Maybe the 'Great War' (World War I) wasn't a great success, but WWII was just AWESOME for the American economy. Don't even ask me what Korea or Vietnam were about, but it's well-known how certain companies have been profiting from the Iraq war.

In the proposed war with China, well, maybe it will be good for manufacturers worldwide who step in to fill the gap -- Americans are used to having a lot of cheap crap to buy -- but there is another agenda this time around.

Population control is the issue. This planet can only sustain so many Humans, and even the Chinese recognize that there are too many Chinese. What better way to knock down the headcount than by going to war with the United States?

The logical solution to our population problem would be to colonize Space, but 'they' don't want to give up the secrets that would make such a thing possible. No. To the uncaring, unfeeling shadow government(s), war brings profit plus reduces the population, two birds with one stone.

I really feel for the Chinese if this war is allowed to begin. Despite their number, their opposition will have an extreme technological advantage. The plan may include strikes on American soil, but the loss-of-life ratio will be tremendously unbalanced...

IF we the people allow 'them' to wage this war, no matter if it's the last order of an outgoing President, it'd be less than pointless -- in my opinion. War is bullshit. There is no reasonable motivation for us to go around killing each other. None at all.

"Whose assertion was it?" You may have asked this question already... He is identified only as 'Henry Deacon' (a pseudonym) on the Project Camelot website... Oh, and now you're asking about Project Camelot itself. They're all about disclosure there, and they've posted many interviews of very credible people saying incredible things.

Concerning what 'Deacon' had to say about 9/11:

"We are of course under no illusions about the importance of this. Five years after the event, Henry may be the first insider to come forward with confirmation that 9/11 was an inside job."

Go to the Camelot link above, then to interviews, and the 'Henry Deacon' transcript. Before that you might want to watch the interviews with Bob Dean and Marcia Schafer here. It is important that you know what Project Camelot does, and those interviews demonstrate it very well...

What did 'Henry Deacon' have to say about an upcoming war with China?

"I know that there’s a planned war between the US and China scheduled for late 2008. This is also geopolitical and not concerned with Black Ops as such. These were both just events that I got to hear about in passing. I have no detailed information about them.

"The Pentagon started the planning in 1998. You have to understand that China and the US are hand in glove with everything. This war is a joint op between the US and China. Most wars are set up that way and have been for a while."

This brief mention was enough to (pardon the expression) raise a red flag.

One can imagine that, within the next year or so, problems with trade between the United States and China could lead to an embargo. China would be understandably incensed, since the United States (of America, just to be clear -- Australia is also abbreviated USA) has become so heavily indebted to China through financial loans that China effectively owns the States.

The indebtedness, if we are to assume 'Henry Deacon' is correct, has been part of a long-term plan. If we buy into this scenario, we might guess that tainted goods supplied to 'America' by Chinese manufacturers (and China's lack of cooperation concerning inspection of production facilities) are the beginning of a campaign of distrust.

It doesn't matter where on Earth we're from. People are people, Humans are Humans. Really, it's perfectly normal if you feel for the people in China who slave away to produce a whole lot of crap that 'Americans' will consume without thinking. The majority of people everywhere are merely doing what they think they need to do -- and if we suddenly find that China and the USA are 'enemies', and that portions of both populations are suddenly committed to war, well, that will fall into the category of things that people think they need to do.

The war, if it is allowed to happen, will come as a slow surprise. Things will escalate, an announcement will be made, and BOOM.

It may be planned (and this seems likely, to me) that it will be China that declares war. It wouldn't make sense to Americans, after all, to get ourselves involved in yet another conflict without provocation (or at least I'd like to think so).

What most everyone will miss (once again, IF it is allowed to happen) is that the whole thing will have been orchestrated by the cryptocratic oligarchs (consult a dictionary if need be, or trust my definition of 'cryptocratic oligarchs' as 'those who rule in secret, for the benefit of the few').

Right now, if you haven't already, you might want to start checking labels for the phrase 'Made In China' before deciding on a purchase. This has nothing to do with the Chinese in general, of course -- they're just people. It has everything to do with whatever it is that the cryptocratic oligarchy has up their collective sleeve. I suspect that, just when we're starting to feel safe about Chinese goods again, there'll be some massive poisoning of a cross-section of 'Americans' from some imported item...

To those of you who are new to this blog: I am not a 'conspiracy theorist'. Sure, I may in this very post be theorizing about a possible conspiracy -- but I prefer the term 'conspiratologist'. I study conspiracy. From what I've seen, I would certainly not put it past the cryptocratic oligarchy to arrange a war between the "United States of America" and the "People's Republic of China".

This post is a WARNING.

It is also a call to grassroots activists everywhere, to look into the situation and -- if substantiation can be found -- raise public awareness, mount protests, et cetera.

Overpopulation is a serious issue -- I won't dispute that. Our beloved Earth cannot sustain our growing number for much longer. However we must not be treated like an infestation, or like a population of deer that are starving themselves in a habitat that we Humans have encroached upon. We have the resources to sustain a growing population, here on Earth for now and off-planet in the near future.

The problem is that those who currently run things have their priorities seriously skewed. They continue to demonstrate that they do NOT have Humanity's best interests in mind.

About five and a half years from now, those of us who will have survived will be living in a completely different world. We may, on the one hand, look back and realize that the number of lives lost do not necessarily correspond to the number of souls damaged. On the other hand, we may regret how much suffering was allowed to happen.

We have to ask ourselves: What kind of recent history do we want to represent us when it comes time to 'officially' enter 'Galactic Society'? Could we not have, can we not now, prevent certain atrocities?

Ah, but if it is China who declares war, how can anyone prevent 'America' from retaliating? Somehow we must stop this before the plan gets that far...

Fast-forward to December 7th, 1941. Poorly trained radar operators -- just a few low-ranking enlisted men -- weren't sure what they were seeing. They phoned in their observation, but it wasn't taken seriously.

My question is: If a perceived threat is strong enough for a buildup of equipment and personnel at Pearl Harbor, why was the battle-proven radar system not given a higher priority?

The attack itself would've been enough to plunge the United States into World War Two. Better, though, if it could be a successful ambush -- more devastation, more outrage.

It has been established that the United States military had previously developed a scenario for a possible Japanese attack, and that the Japanese followed that scenario to the letter.

Coincidence? And what about the radar? Incompetence? Or were there orders to keep technology from spoiling a conspiracy?

Six decades later, and nine months after the pilot episode of a TV show called The Lone Gunmen featured a commercial airliner being flown into the World Trade Center... Well, we all know what happened.

Or do we?

It has been stated that, subsequently, all commercial aircraft were fitted with systems allowing remote takeover in the event of hijacking (or the effective disabling of all available pilots onboard). Even if that is not the case, 1984 technology made it possible to remotely control a large aircraft to slam into a precise target...

I've jumped to conclusions in the past, and repeated things I've read that struck me as true -- sometimes with regret, later on. I can't know what really happened. Theories abound. However, there are important questions we should all be asking...

In view of history, can we put it past 'them'?
Haven't the developments since 2001 been profitable for the few?
Aren't there huge flaws in the official story?

You know what? I'm sick of it. You know what else? I'm not done talking about it. As much as I wish we could all simply bow our heads in remembrance (as very few do anymore on December 7th) we have to keep raising a stink until all is revealed.

Smalltalk Transmogrified

Ever notice how much people seem to like to talk about the weather? I mean, talking about current conditions right then, right there. For instance, as I write this it's cool outside but not abnormally so for the middle of the night in the middle of May, and we've had this dry spell -- I've only had to mow the lawn once so far this year...

I never mastered smalltalk, I guess because I don't understand the rules behind this provincial ritualistic custom and/or never picked up the habit, because I think it's pointless.

Now, if one person has seen or heard the forecast and another hasn't, talking about the weather can then become a useful exchange of information. On the other hand, I can do without that inevitable summertime question, "Hot enough for ya?"

Talking about current weather conditions is perfectly fine, however, when you're conversing with someone hundreds of miles away. You get a better sense of what it's like where that other person is, and that's (somewhat) interesting...

These days of course the weather has become more interesting (as in the ancient Chinese curse/blessing, "may you live in interesting times"). Everyone is talking about the freakish weather and global warming -- and debating about whether we are responsible.

My view on global warming is that it's something that simply happens every few thousand years, and though it may be inconvenient, there's little or no truth to the idea that human actions have triggered it this time around. I'll admit that we may be speeding it up a bit, but it's a cyclical thing. Plus, any day now we could have a massive volcanic eruption that darkens the skies and cools things down again. Who knows? My view is subject to revision...

Now, and to the real point of this post, my view on freakish weather:

By random chance, strange weather patterns pop up every now and then. Our atmosphere has always been in a state of controlled chaos, but you could look at the record for a particular area and pretty much know what to expect. Recently? Not so much.

Now we're back to talking about global warming. Everyone seems to think that global warming is at the root of our weather troubles, and the majority seem to think that we, as a species, are at fault. Whether it's a rookie mistake, or something we should've seen coming, global warming has become a hot topic (unavoidable pun). Some of us are scrambling to find a solution, while others are waiting and watching intently...

Meanwhile we live in a world of big government and big government secrets, where big ideas sometimes generate big checks written with the big invisible pen of Big Brother. Long ago there were smartypants types working on ways to make it rain here or stop the rain over there, for purely practical reasons. Government types picked up on this, realizing that the ability to control the weather could provide a tactical advantage in combat.

Thus, weather control becomes a military secret. No one is supposed to know about it. We wouldn't want our 'enemies' to expect and prepare for sudden harsh weather, now would we? Of course not. So, as with anything that can be used for a tactical advantage, our big government feels no remorse as it continues to write big checks for the big secret project, and the secret ability to control the weather gets developed further and further. Expense is not an issue, and disclosure is unthinkable.

There's really no telling how many secrets they keep from the public, or how big some of them may be.

Why is that a problem? It's a problem because the type of people who seek power are usually the exact kind of people we shouldn't trust. These are the people who ultimately get to hold the secrets, and who secretly hold the power to use secret technology in any way they choose.

These people own big corporations and make big back-room deals for big government contracts. If they can figure out ways to make big messes, they can make big money cleaning them up and/or Big Oil can use big disasters as excuses for big price increases, for big profit. Somehow, doing so doesn't make them feel small. They didn't get where they are by being compassionate.

So, it's no big deal for them to use the big weather machine to make big storms that make big news and cause a great big death toll. Over -- and over -- and over -- and over again, and they can get away with it.

And guess what? A big part of that big weather machine involves using big arrays of big antennae emitting large amounts of electromagnetic radiation to focus big heat on this or that specific target in our atmosphere (as you may know, temperature differentials are a big part of what creates weather patterns). Have they been using it often enough to contribute to global warming? That's a big maybe.

Another thing that may be contributing to global warming is the ever-increasing use of cellphones and other wireless technology, including radio and television. All of those things operate within the microwave frequency range -- and we all know what microwaves do. On that subject, it was discovered long ago that a powerful enough radio transmitter will adversely affect the weather. Can anyone say Dust Bowl? Now, what do you suppose our big secretive government did with that knowledge?

Can you say Katrina? Can you say 'Subtropical Storm' Andrea, freakishly popping up out of nowhere to fan the flames of a really big 'wildfire' instead of bringing rain?

Oh sure, we're supposed to believe those big transmitter arrays are used for purely scientific purposes. They had to have a big lie ready, because the arrays are too big to hide, even in big big Alaska. What's that, big government? You want to put big satellites in orbit without telling us what they're for? It's classified as a big secret? Sure, why not? What reason would we have not to trust you? And hey, if you're using them for weather 'experiments', you'll give us fair warning, right? And compensate anyone for any damages? Sure, okay...

Big media plays a big role in this big mess. They're under big pressure to help keep the big secrets from coming out and causing a big problem for the bigwigs. What should be big news gets swept under a big rug, and the public continues to be largely unaware.

We can change that. It's a big project, but we've got this great big electronic network at our fingertips, and we can reach a big number of people. Yes, it's a huge responsibility, but one that we must not shrink from.

WE MUST TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER.

If you think all this is one big paranoid delusion, well, that's certainly understandable -- but consider this: The most unthinkable acts are the ones that criminals are most likely to get away with. You don't even bother to ask, "How could anyone do such a thing?" Then, according to plan, the blame is laid elsewhere, or the whole thing is dismissed as an unsolvable mystery.

In the case of bad weather, we tend to think of it as an act of God, or Mother Nature, or Mother Earth. We do not tend to put these pieces together, that 1: Lack of compassion can lead to power and wealth; 2: Wars lead to military secrecy and secret weapons; 3: Greedy and unscrupulous people who leverage themselves into positions of power end up with control over those secret weapons, and 4: Whatever they want to do, they can, as long as the public doesn't find out about it.

These conspirators may be clever and cunning, and incredibly ruthless, but they are NOT smarter than everyone else. Quite a few of us can see that many of these recent disasters have been anything but natural...

Here's hoping that, as people inexorably continue to talk about the weather, more of us talk about weather engineering -- and how far the science has gone, and how it's being used. Let's hope people start asking the right questions.

A Saucerful of Secrets

If the title of this post sounds familiar, it's also the title of a song and an album released in 1968 by Pink Floyd. If you don't remember the lyrics, don't worry -- it's an instrumental.

In this space and elsewhere, I've written about how technology will inevitably change our society -- becoming a great equalizer as it nearly eliminates the need for human labour. The ability to manipulate matter at a subatomic level will revolutionize our lives and effect a major turning point in human history...

A review of how this will work:

With this technology, anything and everything can be brought into existence from an equal amount of base matter -- any refuse will do, so first of all we as a race will be able to clean up after ourselves. Another bit of technology we'll gain will be the long-sought-after 'free' energy, and so nothing, not even the energy we'll use, will cost anything at all.

How can that be? Everything -- even the matter manipulation machines themselves -- will be able to be brought into existence in this manner, and everything that uses power will be able to be effectively self-powered. The only limit to how much can be created is how much base matter can be supplied, to be dematerialized and rematerialized in a new form.

What does this mean? There will no longer be the need for any kind of monetary system. There will be no reason for this technology not to be shared universally, at least to the point of making sure everyone has what they require...

Of course this will be a major adjustment for everyone to make. There will be the temptation to create all sorts of useless things, just because we can. Some will want to create weapons to use against others, so we'll have to find a way to deal with that issue...

...and perhaps our propensity for homicide is the very reason we don't already have this technology.

Left to ourselves, we might have already developed the tech (some would argue that we've already developed 'free' energy, in a few different forms, and that it's being kept from the public). Maybe we have made strides toward it, and maybe "the powers that be" have hidden it away because it will end their reign. But maybe there are more advanced beings out there watching us, and maybe they are willing to share the technology, when and if we demonstrate our readiness.

If you think about 'aliens' and what kind of technology they must have, you quickly realize that it must go far beyond anything that would make interesting science fiction. Authors may indeed have thought of what I have outlined above, but found it difficult to write stories around. With everything so dramatically different, how would the reader relate? How can anyone even think of something to write about in such a scenario?

We don't have to believe we are not alone -- this technology does not necessarily have to depend upon 'aliens'. We'll reach that tipping point all on our own, eventually. However there is much to suggest that intelligent life must exist elsewhere, and once we accept that possibility we must also accept the further possibility (or indeed, the likelihood) that some are much more advanced. Even further, we can assume that some must be so advanced that they can defy the limitations that our own primitive science places on physics. Maybe we can't see how anyone could travel interstellar distances quickly enough to make it practicable, but maybe to those 'others' it's a walk in the park.

AND, maybe our development of nuclear fission put us on their watch list. That's a big milestone, for with just a few more developments we could become a nuisance -- and for that matter, with just that one, we've become a threat to our own existence.

Now, take a look around you. Do we, as a species, appear ready? Wouldn't our governments seize the technology and use it as they see fit, cloaked in secrecy? Have they already done so? How would we know?

We are currently too divided and too dependent upon the governmental systems (and other factors) that perpetuate that division. In general, we do not see ourselves as one people -- yet.

Maybe, with our ever-increasing connectivity and ever-increasing ecological awareness, we will indeed soon be able to collectively recognize how we're all in the same boat, and how important it is that we find a way to get along.

And maybe that's what it will take for us to be considered to be ready -- or ALMOST ready...

Theoretically, one 'alien' saucer would be sufficient to spawn the transformation. A single matter manipulation machine could begin the process, and before long they could be everywhere. Do you see how careful those more-advanced beings have to be? If we were to get our hands on that level of technology before we're ready, we could cause a catastrophic amount of trouble.

Remember, along with the ability to materialize things comes the ability to DE-materialize them. That, right there, is potentially the most formidable weapon imaginable.

You don't hand a chainsaw to a chimpanzee.

As painful as it may be to watch news footage from September 11 2001, we owe
it to those who were taken from us that day -- indeed, we owe it to Humanity
-- to never allow ourselves to forget.

Which is not to say that we should hold a grudge against those who were
blamed for the events of that day, but that somehow we must bring
accountability to those who were actually responsible. The facts simply
don't add up. You don't have to subscribe to every theory of conspiracy
surrounding those events to doubt the official story.

At the time, most of us were too shocked to know what to think, and there is
certainly a tendency for people to believe the news as presented. Now, over
5 years later, there has been so much uncovered that we can only conclude
that the masses aren't in an uproar because the truth is simply too horrible
to think of.

Who could believe that government officials would plan and execute a staged
attack on their own country? Such an act is so EVIL that hardly anyone can
accept that it happened. They would rather fall in line and lay the blame
where they are told to. They would rather send their children out in harm's
way in an unjust war -- a war in which certain corporations have been
profiting immensely from government contracts.

This is the world we live in -- a world where monsters dwell, pulling the
strings from behind the scenes, thriving on human suffering. This is a
world where people swallow the lies of those monsters because the truth, if
they ever got a chance to taste it, would make them puke.

Reality, as always, is subjective. No matter how low Bush's approval rating
gets, if it's not 0% we know that there are those among us who are seriously
deluded. Every time I go out in traffic I still see at least one W'04 or
Bush/Cheney sticker on the back of a vehicle. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE
PEOPLE?!? Maybe they're just stupid, or maybe they've lived their entire
lives having their reality spoon-fed to them. Either way, it seems they are
incapable of thinking for themselves.

Various cultures have had legitimate reasons to wage war in the past, but
that's just a part of Humanity's evolutionary history. It has been said
that there can be no evolution without REvolution, and it appears we are on
the brink of a revolution wherein people demand an end to war. At this
stage, war can serve no legitimate purpose.

Yet, we still live in a world where a relative few hold ultimate power over
the many -- and those relative few didn't get where they are by being nice
guys with everyone's best interests at heart. We still live in a world
where the majority are clueless as to what's really going on.

How can we change this?

One way or another, people are going to have to be exposed to the truth --
but even then, that's not enough. If our governments are not to be trusted,
they'll have to be replaced -- but with what? Someone has to formulate a
system that will guarantee that cryptocracy can never rear its ugly head
again, ever, anywhere.

Either this revolution occurs, or we as a species doom ourselves to
struggling for survival, let alone sustainability.

The Sleeping Giant

Not much has been written lately on the Nation of Earth, but it hasn't been forgotten, hasn't gone away. It's just that there isn't anything new to report.

You might say we reached the end of a long road of discovery and are now waiting for a bus at the crossing. The concept having been refined, the vision clarified, it seems there is nothing left to do but wait...

But wait! Aren't there things to do? Yes, probably dozens, but not by me, not at the moment. As an admitted slacker who slipped into activism, I certainly fit the description of 'slacktivist'. I'll also admit to being an underachiever, setting projects aside for later, leaving many of them unfinished -- but rest assured, the Nation of Earth is still a work in progress.

The thing is, I can't think of anything else to do at this point that doesn't involve money, which is something slackers and underachievers rarely have much of. One could be kind and say that I'm merely ahead of my time -- money won't ALWAYS be what makes the world go round -- or one could label me an idealist, which could have a positive or a negative connotation, depending.

One may certainly wonder why I don't try to either raise or earn money for my cause, and to that issue I must repeat: Money should have become obsolete by now. Plus, I never felt comfortable asking for it, and working for someone else in exchange for it seems counterintuitive. It's not that I feel I'm above employment, or that it's beneath me in any way -- it's just that it doesn't FIT.

So to my mind, if the Nation of Earth is to be an organization with any funding at all, it will never come from solicited donations. Nor would I like to get any kind of business loan to manufacture such things as flags and T-shirts. However, from a practical standpoint it does appear that a certain amount of money is needed if we expect this movement to be given a name, if we expect people to become familiar with the Flag of Earth -- a flag that carries a meaning all its own, a symbol powerful enough to help unite the people of this world with or without added context.

Launching a non-profit organization (possibly called Earth Patrol) funded by sales of flag-related merchandise is the next logical step. Obviously this will require startup capital, which I don't have and won't ask for, and so the future of my involvement in this movement hangs in the balance.

The Nation of Earth, if I have anything to do with it, will not ask for nor expect money from anyone. All it asks for is time and consideration. If anyone wants to donate anything, please let it be kindness to your fellow humans, respect for the planet, and mindfulness of a future of sustainability -- along with time spent discussing these things with others. There is a need for many changes here on Earth, not the least of which are changes in attitude and outlook.

These changes will come in time, but the process has to start somewhere, and we can all choose a level of involvement. Maybe we can speed things along, or at least ease the transition.

Maybe, just maybe, we can shape our own future...

Diaspora

Within my lifetime, the population of the USA has grown by 50% -- from 200 million to 300 million. That's alarming, and brings up an issue that I've only been faintly aware of, from various works of science fiction.

There are close to 6.6 billion of us on this planet. Mother Earth can't take much more of this growth. Pretty soon we'll be forced to 'move out'.

How many generations will it be before we know Earth only as our Home Planet, and where will we have gone? Well, maybe not far...

If we can't all live on Earth, and since nearby planets and moons offer only a temporary solution (not an easy one at that), where DO we go?

For that answer we first have to think about what technology will do for us, and we have to admit to ourselves that there is much technology that has been kept secret. It is the stuff of science fiction, but imagine if you will a device that can create absolutely anything 'out of thin air'...

Now imagine that people would get bored with that. For some of us it will take longer than others.

Okay, so now we are a people who can make anything out of nothing, at no cost -- but for the most part we only make what we need, and 'vaporize' stuff we're done with. What do we need most? We need places to live. Those places should probably not be places at all, but mobile dwellings capable of sustaining us out in the vacuum of Space.

They might as well be full-fledged spacecraft, so that we can travel.

All of a sudden we not only have the means to save our planet from overpopulation, but the answer to the question of where to go -- which is, more or less, anywhere we want.

Then we limit the 'permanent' population of our home planet, letting much of it go wild again, assisting in its recovery where we can. We visit once in a while, but most of our time is spent in our 'flying Winnebagoes'.

After all, we'll have everything we need in those hyperhomes...

The Nation of Earth as a Global Union

Multinational unions can take decades to form. There probably isn't time for a global peoples' union to be formed and assume control before the current network of regimes manages to royally screw things up.

However the Nation of Earth already exists, and we'll be prepared when their house of cards, built without hearts, tumbles.

It is simplest to describe it as a Global Union. Unlike the United Nations, the European Union, or even the African Union, though, our GU will represent the PEOPLE -- not governments, not corporations. Our representatives will not spend months at a time in some centralized location, far away from their constituents. Instead they will spend most of their time among us, giving talks on what is happening on the global stage and listening to us about what we need and want.

Since we are bypassing many current regimes, there is no reason for us to recognize the larger ones that cause so much trouble. Besides, places like China, India, and the United States (to name just the 3 most populous countries) are simply too big to be represented by one person. What we'll have to do is break larger countries down into existing states, provinces, and large cities for representational divisions.

That's right, there's no need to redraw the maps -- not completely, anyway -- because we still need smaller governments to run things. What the people will see that they do NOT want, or need, is any large and overbearing government run by individuals who look out for themselves and one another, rather than serve the people. Local political reform will naturally follow.

Does this mean there will no longer be a People's Republic of China? No more United States of America? Whether those bodies continue to exist is not for us to determine. All we are doing is having the people elect local representatives for a global forum.

Personally, I take no pride in being an American. Any American pride I ever held has been whittled away by the actions of our government. I'm perfectly happy being a West Virginian and an Earthling, thank you. I served my time in the military, and that didn't help my attitude.

If and when the individual States of the USA decide they no longer need a Federal government, so be it. State governments can then cooperate with one another, and with other governments around the world.

Those chosen as global representatives should probably not be affiliated with any political party, and should sever any and all ties with such parties before being considered for the position. Elections will be held completely separate from existing political systems. Interim representatives can volunteer for the positions in the meantime.

Perhaps those representatives can take a break from teleconferencing with one another and actually get together in a physical location for 2 weeks every year. Dissolution & Restructuring

A while back I came up with this slogan:

IGNORE THE ILLUSION
THE SOLUTION IS DISSOLUTION

This came from an American perspective. I may be an "Earth Patriot", but I happen to live in the so-called United States and in fact have not yet physically travelled beyond US borders, and so here I am, in this poor excuse for a country, with its controlled media and rampant blind nationalism...

The dissolution the slogan refers to is the elimination of the nation known as the United States of America, but the thought behind it was incomplete. I was merely thinking there was no need for a Federal government overseeing the individual States...

In a recent post I outlined a Global Union and proposed that larger countries be broken up into existing states and provinces for the purposes of representation within said Union. This seems only fair, since many of these states and provinces are larger than many entire nations, and should not be grouped together into huge and disproportionally influential political entities.

Smaller countries are already banding together to form unions, most notably the European Union but perhaps more ominously the African Union, which covers a very large continent. While it is certainly understandable that smaller and less influential countries should seek strength in numbers in response to the influence of superpowers such as the United States and (yes) China, what we will end up with is a few large entities that may find themselves at odds with one another, along with many smaller entities acting independently and perhaps causing serious trouble (such as North Korea).

Even if the larger entities were able to meet and agree on a course of action (i.e. what to do about North Korea), we would have the problem of major decisions being made by too few individuals. How few is too few? Good question.

Each of the 50 United States has several representatives, including 100 congresspeople and 435 voting members of the House of Representatives, and yet these 535 people are not enough to resist the pressures of large corporations -- and the pressure of the power elite. Bills pass into law without having been read -- Patriot Acts 1 & 2 were both much too long to be assimilated in the short time given between presentation and vote.

We could have one person ruling the entire world, as long as he or she wasn't corrupt. Proper representation is not a matter of numbers, but a matter of whether the people are truly being represented. Here in the relatively small state of West Virginia, we are 'represented' by not one, not two, but FIVE individuals in the House and Congress, and all of them are part of our 2-party system.

Yes, that's right, somehow we have allowed our entire country to be run by a pair of political parties. Right down to municipal elections, it is quite rare for anyone who is not a 'Democrat' or 'Republican' to gain any office, however small. This 2-party system only serves to perpetuate our lack of true representation.

Instead of 5 people elected to represent West Virginia in the United States government, I would prefer ONE person elected to represent the 2 million people of West Virginia as part of a "Global Union", and I'd really really like the Republican and Democratic parties to be left out of the process.

Then there would be 50 representatives of the former USA, plus a few from outlying territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands etc) and who-knows-how-many from other places, to decide on the fate of the world. Maybe some states and provinces will feel the need for more than one representative, and perhaps each 'global city' should have one. Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that there would be an even two thousand.

There are 6,550,671,884 people on Earth to be represented as of this writing, and a projected 6.6 billion by July 2007. That's an approximate average of one GR (global representative) for every 3.3 million people. Is that adequate? Can one person effectively represent 3.3 million, more or less?

The real questions and issues are not about forms of government, nor the size of government, but how much corruption we allow within it. Many current forms of government serve to perpetuate the status quo. Once again I point to the government of the United States of America...

The way they've got it set up, it really can't be changed from within. In theory, maybe, but in practice, no. The 2-party system gives the illusion of choice while perpetuating an exclusionist tradition of grooming and selection. The candidates we are presented with are not the best 2 people for the job, but the 2 people who have managed to jump through their respective partisan hoops. Yes, other parties and a few independent candidates have managed a certain amount of success, but the vast majority of 'public servants' in the USA, down to the lowest positions, belong to one or the other of the 2 major parties.

It is a system that rewards officials who do favors for one another. Screw the populace, what have you done for your fellow politicians lately? People who enter the system with the best intentions find that they have to make sacrifices to get anything done. Some soldier on and try to make a difference, but others get discouraged and do not seek reelection, while some are compromised and keep going along for the ride.

Meanwhile, our national government has turned into a monster. Laws affecting 300 million Americans continue to be passed by a mere 535 of us (or as few of that number who choose to participate). We are not consulted on how we feel about the bills they draft and sign into law, and they just keep piling on more and more legislation.

Where will it end?

It ends with a new beginning.

I'll be taking a look at the 230 countries on Earth -- and their states, provinces, and cities -- in an attempt to determine probable representational divisions. [The State of New York, as one example, has a population of about 19 million, approximately 8 million of whom reside in New York City.] A work of speculative fiction may very well follow.

The Tellurian Revolution

As a child, I decided I was an 'atheist', because I couldn't accept 'God' as 'He' was presented to me. A few years later I discovered the word 'agnostic' and decided that it was much better to admit that I just didn't know, so that I might be open to discovering whatever spiritual force may exist.

Recently, I declared myself to be an 'anarchist' because I couldn't accept any form of national government that I was aware of. More recently, I decided to keep my mind open in this area as well...

The phrase, "Taxation without representation is tyranny," is attributed to James Otis, and was famously repeated by Patrick Henry. Those guys were involved in something known as the American Revolution, which was more than just another colonial uprising...

Some 230 years later, times have changed. Today's tyrannical empire isn't so easy to identify. Some call it a "cryptocratic oligarchy", but when we have a billionaire former CEO in high public office, and one of his colleagues recruiting for human sacrifices in tiny nations such as Montenegro and Albania, we might be able to figure out who some of the players are.

Governments are easily corrupted. This is nothing new, but the scale of government (and the scale of corruption) has reached monstrous proportions. American revolutionaries knew that government must be kept in check, but their work was undone. We continue to trade our liberty for a false sense of security, kind of like paying 'protection' money to local thugs.

Pretty soon there will be some key questions asked and answered, for the world to see. People will begin to recognize who is really running things, and begin to understand why. Don't expect them to be happy about it.

Yet, the cryptocracy has been quite thorough, reaching its tendrils into many influential organizations, staking claim to their position at the top of the food chain. We can't very well go to the United Nations and expect them to solve the problem -- Or can we?

Well, we could try. But then, many of the problems we currently face are caused by the US administration, which thumbs its nose at the UN -- and the UN itself is far from what it was originally intended to be.

One wonders if the European Union will ever get over its ideas about supranationalism and settle on intergovernmentalism, and whether the African Union will manage to show the EU a better way. Do we dare hope for a future network of such continental unions?

Could we one day enjoy a complete absence of large, overbearing governments, having replaced them with a global, cooperative union? Do we want that?

Many oppose the idea of a global government, and with good reason. However, some form of it is inevitable -- and quite possibly desirable. Perhaps our future holds global cooperation between smaller governments, as a form of global government.

While I certainly don't support what currently passes for government in this country (and many others), we do require a certain amount of organization. There will continue to be decisions that must be agreed upon. I DO support government that listens to its people while staying out of their business as much as possible (even if such a thing is purely theoretical at present).

So, what I am indeed advocating is a PROPERLY PLANNED AND CAREFULLY MANAGED Global Union.

A Global Union would, just like it sounds, be sort of like a larger version of the EU and AU. We can think of those smaller unions as being testbeds. We can look at what works and avoid what doesn't...

Large nations such as the United States and China present a problem. Citizens enjoy less and less real representation as they are lumped into larger and larger groups. I propose that large nations be broken down into existing states and provinces (and beyond that, as far as necessary) for the purposes of representation in the Global Union. Conversely, smaller states such as Baja California Norte and Baja California Sur may choose to join together (if Mexico is deemed too large) -- but of course that would be a regional issue.

The question of how well any particular regional government represents its people is still a problem, but it is ultimately a problem for the people of that particular region. However, with each region becoming part of a global family, they may be more open to governmental alternatives...

Breaking government down into smaller regions makes influence from corporate lobbyists more difficult.

Still, no matter what form of government we have to put up with, how will we make sure we are being properly represented?

Behind the scenes, the transcendental meditation movement has been at work, improving our situation here on Earth little by little, since its inception. This is very much the 'Thought Creates' sort of thing that the late Walt Bartoo (AKA Kortron) endorsed, but on a much larger, well-organized (some would say 'cultish') level.

In the course of composing this post, I Googled 'global union' and found the Global Union of Scientists for Peace. There is apparently scientific evidence that thought does indeed create. It seems that Unified Field research has led to the discovery that INTELLIGENCE is the one force that ties everything together.

This makes sense to me. It explains, well, almost everything. Maybe now I know what "God" is.

And, if people can achieve a state of consciousness that will allow them direct influence on things, perhaps that is the future of governance. While in such a state, I very much doubt that anyone could or would steer things wrong. I tell you, I'd rather trust things to monks in orange robes than to any elected official.

Do our thoughts and THINGS WE SAY OUT LOUD have an effect on the world around us? Maybe they do. And, maybe when you lend voice to your doubts and fears, they can become self-fulfilling. Further, maybe if you can achieve a higher state of conscienceness a couple of times a day, you can contribute to universal harmony...

Maybe the revolution will indeed be an extremely peaceful one, wherein many of us learn the art of transcendental meditation and/or find ourselves in a sort of waking dream state, finally in touch with the Multiverse and putting an end to ignorance through the power of the Human mind.

Maybe now the "New Age" movement makes more sense, and maybe it becomes more obvious why that most famous of the Maharishi's students, John Lennon, was assassinated.

Maybe we can indeed eventually forget about any formal form of governance. Perhaps all we need to do is to look within.

Disclaimer:

I have not actively pursued transcendental meditation in any ritualized form, and find it quite odd that "TM" is not something you can learn for free.

One would think that such a thing, if it is all it's said to be, would be broadcast freely instead of being sold.

However, I think there is indeed something to the general idea. That each of us is connected to everything, and that we may be able to influence the world around us through the power of thought, and that the power of those thoughts is multiplied when many of us are thinking the same thing, makes sense to me.

This is very analogous to "the power of prayer". One need not subscribe to any particular mindset of what "God" is to contribute.

If everything is indeed connected, if some cosmic intelligence is indeed at the root of all energy and matter, then everyone's individual intelligence must play a part. It then follows that we can, once we realize this, begin to control the influence of our will.

If the Maharishi, after discovering certain techniques, was compromised and left forever unable to truly share, perhaps it was meant to be. Perhaps we were not ready, and certain things on this Earth had to play out. Perhaps, without the horrors we have witnessed, we would not be able to fully appreciate the wonders that are to follow.

Still uncertain as to how it will come about, I have seen a beautiful future for the Earth and her people. In the interim, life may suck.

Nation of Earth website

One good URL seems to be available for a future Nation of Earth website, and I have a host lined up.

No, we're not talking about a fan site for '90s German trance band Earth Nation, though Ralf Hildenbeutel may be contacted about the possibility of collaborating on an anthem...

The questions are: What will the Nation of Earth website be like? and, What will it do?

First, it most likely will not use Flash. Flash doesn't load very quickly for a lot of visitors, it takes time to compose, and it's simply unnecessary. A site can look great and perform very well without it. Expect it to look better and contain more content (much more, eventually) than the Unified Settlement site ever did.

As for what it will do, details are uncertain at this point.

Obviously we will have to explain what the Nation of Earth is, and visitors might like to learn how it came about. They may even like to know a bit about me, but on that page I'll have to explain that I'm not exactly a founder of the movement; I'm merely someone who gave it a name and thought it might be nice if more of us understood how much we, the People of Earth, have in common, how our interests are all intertwined (Am I Founder, or "Primary Concept Developer"?)

As for what the Nation of Earth itself will do, that is not for me to decide -- because the Nation of Earth is, by definition, a very very large group of individuals who happen to live on this planet. Even the question of its organizational structure is not one to be answered by one person. Okay, maybe it could be, but not without consultation and concordance.

The whole concept of the Nation of Earth may be only something I dreamed up, or it may be a very natural progression of Humanity -- but certainly, I cannot have been the first to imagine the dominant species of a planet uniting globally despite the efforts of a few to continue to rule the many. Revolutions are inevitable, but this is the revolution that could, if it is handled properly, lay the groundwork for change to become evolutionary, rather than revolutionary.

See, when I finally acquired regular internet access I tried to educate myself on what was happening in the related fields of antigravity and 'free' energy, only to find evidence of conspiratorial suppression in these areas. Further avenues of research revealed a great amount of suggestion concerning a broad and extremely successful legacy of conspirators -- multinational, multigenerational, multifarious. Apparently, the greedy souls of this world have collectively managed to exert a stranglehold on the general populace (and that's putting it lightly). Our society has become what it is because a relative few have decided to engineer it that way, for profit.

This will not stand. The People of Earth will discover the falsities in Falls City (and everywhere else), will learn how they and their parents and grandparents have been manipulated, and they won't be happy about it. Here is where the Nation of Earth comes in. While the revelation may cause anger, the revolution need not be an angry one...

John Lennon (who, by the way, was assassinated) tried to tell us:

You say you want a revolution, well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan.

You tell me that it's evolution, well, you know
We're all doing what we can...

But if you want money for people with minds that hate,
All I can tell you is brother, you'll have to wait...

And you know it's gonna be
All right.

And, ultimately, it IS gonna be all right. It might've been more all right in the here and now if John Lennon were still among us to continue to show the way, and that's probably why he isn't. What's that? Do I accuse the elite of arranging his death? Absolutely. He could see how things were, and he used his celebrity to attempt to wake the rest of us up, and he knew that song lyrics would be a very effective wedge. He could not be allowed to continue.

Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope one day you'll join us
And the world can live as one.

Imagine what he would have to say about 9/11 and Iraq, and about Israel and Katrina and what-have-you. Imagine people listening to songs and interviews from him over the past couple of decades. Now, imagine that there are those who will do whatever it takes to keep the People under their thumb.

Stripped of his presence and influence, we have to find another tack. We must try to imagine what it would be like if he and Martin Luther King and the Kennedy brothers had not been slain by the elite. We must join together and nullify the societal engineering that has made so many of us blind to the Machiavellian machinations of the 'powers that be'.

So, as far as I'm concerned, the Nation of Earth and its website should attempt to help the People of Earth educate themselves to their situation, and ask that we find a (nonviolent) solution. I will be more than happy to field comments and questions, and near blissful when their number requires me to recruit others for the task.

To summarize, I do not exactly know what will happen with the Nation of Earth, nor can I predict the future of its website. I do not even know whether very many will come to know the movement as 'the Nation of Earth'. I only know that the movement is already underway, and I only hope that giving it a name will help.

Narrowing It Down

Greetings, People of Earth.

Those of you who have been following the progress of the Nation of Earth (formerly known as the Unified Settlement) may have long wondered how we can have a global nation without government. I have to admit that I've been trying to figure that out myself; This endeavour has certainly proven to be a learning process. If this is your first visit to the Nation of Earth blog, perhaps this post will bring you up to speed...

Basically, the idea is to govern ourselves, without needing to find a name for what we're doing. The problem is finding a way to get there.

I've been spending some 'quiet time' away from the computer, gaining perspective. My previous intuition -- spanning most if not all of my life, as it turns out -- about how things should and will be, has gained new focus and clarity. It's one of those realizations that gives you a wonderful feeling that keeps bringing a smile back to your face every time you think about it.

The answer has been staring us in the face for hundreds, even thousands of years. There have always been peaceful tribes who revere Nature. They may have seemed primitive, but if they have lacked anything recognizable as 'government', neither have they existed in a perpetual state of chaos.

Far from being 'savages', the inhabitants of the continent that came to be known as North America had a rich culture, at the core of which was a much deeper spirituality than that of the Europeans who came to conquer them.

Is there blame to be placed? Can you curse the Roman Empire for setting off a disastrous chain of events? Never mind all that: As a species, we've made plenty of mistakes. The best we can do is to learn from them. The future is in our hands -- no use dwelling on the past.

The various Native American tribes have come to be known as Nations. It is no accident, though I was unaware of the connection at the time, that the name 'Unified Settlement' has been replaced with 'Nation of Earth'. I will not suggest that we all attempt live as they did centuries ago, but I do think it would be useful for us to think of ourselves as one very large tribe.

We would also do well to respect our elders, and care for the planet that gives us life, and keep in our minds and hearts those things which are truly important. There are many cultures dotting the surface of this globe to gain inspiration from...

...but if you are reading this, you are probably someone who only needs to look within...

At this point in my journey, I can see that I must become more familiar with Native American ways -- but of course this will only be for my own education. The Nation of Earth is something new, and its structure will not be a direct copy of anything that came before. However, somewhere in there is the key to becoming recognized as a nation.

It might not be all that long before there are Nation of Earth license plates...

Face the Nation

The nation originally founded as the Unified Settlement has undergone a bit of a transformation, as the very concept of its nature has been refined.

The name, Unified Settlement, was a bit contrived. While it may be applied to a physical location at some point in the future, it is better to refer to this nation of Earth as, simply, the Nation of Earth. At any rate it will likely translate much better to other languages, and is certainly more descriptive.

It is often best to keep things as simple as possible.

"So," you may ask, "what is this Nation of Earth you speak of, and is it any different from the Unified Settlement?"

What it is, is a continuation, an evolution. Where the concept of the Unified Settlement seemed to always be difficult to explain, the concept of a Nation of Earth is nearly self-evident. Besides the name, there isn't really anything different from what we most recently understood the Unified Settlement to be...

...which is a Nation of Earth, THE Nation of Earth, whatever people may call it, however informal its organization, and however far-flung those who recognize it may be.

It is something which already exists, something that continues to grow organically -- as opposed to something someone thought up and is trying to get others to accept.

You might say that this conveniently takes some weight off my shoulders, and perhaps I am indeed 'passing the torch', but if it is to be one nation for all of Earth, it's probably better if it doesn't have some silly name and one relatively young man known as its 'Founder'.

As I've repeatedly stated, the Nation of Earth represents a natural and inevitable state, one of virtual 'State'-lessness. It's an EVENTUALITY, fercryinoutloud, not something that any one person can be credited for initiating.

This is not to say that all we can do is sit back and watch it unfold. There is much to be done, though I may be the last person one should ask for direction.

But, if anyone asks, my advice is to visualize the best possible future and do what you can to steer things toward it. That was my intent in February 2004 when I (somewhat arrogantly) founded the Unified Settlement. Now 2 years wiser, my stance is much more relaxed yet fundamentally quite similar.

Volunteerism

How do we make this nation of ours work? One word: Volunteerism.

One very big problem with our society is that most people 'needs ta get PAID' in order for them to expend any effort. This is slowly changing, and of course there has always been a percentage of the population who have been more than ready to jump in and do things that no one even asks to be done.

However the mercenary attitude persists, and for good reason. Our society demands that we earn currency, to pay taxes and feed the corporate monsters. Thus "Time Is Money". We may all know that it really isn't, but the phrase has been burned into our brains.

The thing is, when you do not ask what's in it for you, the work is more rewarding. You can replace "time is money" with "what goes around comes around", and relax and live happily. Can't you?

In an ideal world, yes you can. This is far from an ideal world at the moment, so no one can be faulted for working within 'the system' to ensure one's needs are met. I can tell you from personal experience, however, that considerable pressure may come to 'get a job' if you decide to let volunteer work become your main focus.

Do I expect to 'get paid' for founding and developing the Unified Settlement? Of course not. I never have. I've accepted payment for Flag of Earth T-shirts, but have done no better than to break even on them, and would gladly give them away. Similarly, when and if I can gain control of Flag of Earth International, I'd be happy to let it operate in the red if I could afford to make up the difference.

Unless a person is born into a community outside the influence of capitalist/consumerist society, or manages to escape from it (and unless they are financially independent), that person will continue to be pressured to 'earn a living'. Beyond that, there could very well be pressure to 'become successful'...

Why? What is the point? Would you not be happier building and maintaining your own home and helping others build and maintain theirs? Would you not be happier (and healthier) growing your own food and helping your neighbours at harvest? But that kind of life exists only in the distant past -- or does it?

Technology surely has changed things, and much of it might not exist without capitalism and a mercenary attitude. However there is much technology that has been kept hidden from us, much of it developed by inventors who received only misery and early deaths for their trouble.

By now we should have evolved past the need for money. If those hidden technologies had been allowed to develop alongside (and commingled with) all the others, the 21st Century would more closely resemble the dreams of futurists past. Everyone could have more than thy ever needed, without lifting a finger...

...Though we probably don't want things to turn out quite that way. If there is a certain amount of work involved in everyday life -- probably more physical work than most of us are accustomed to -- we can keep ourselves from becoming useless. In the future, I can see people being judged by their peers much differently. One may be able to choose to do nothing at all, and others may leave that person to it -- then again they would probably think more highly of that person if he or she found something constructive and/or contributory to do with his or her time.

The kind of possible society I'm describing here can't be labelled in current political terms. It is neither 'communist' nor 'democratic', neither 'republican' nor 'socialist'. WHEN it is allowed to exist, we will have seen the err of our ways and forever put government behind us.

Now, who among us can manage to 'earn a salary' for working toward this future? No one can -- at least not for long -- and if they do they will find themselves volunteering a portion of their 'wages' to those less 'fortunate'.

For we are all family, here on Earth, and that's how we have to look at it. Even the power elite are family -- for them, we have to stage an intervention, because they've grown too big for their britches.

So, let's get the family together and show everyone that there's a better way. Let's teach the hungry how to feed themselves, teach the angry how to calm down (or, at least, to redirect their anger to the true source of their problems), teach the greedy the true meaning of wealth.

And, let's hope they'll listen to reason.

Arms Against War -- Visibly United

It began with this open letter, from a longtime supporter of the Unified Settlement:

Dear Friends,

I am so worried and angry about the way our world is being treated by our governments. They spy, they invade countries illegally, they are involved in torture and at no point are they doing what they were elected to do - look after the interests of the people of their countries. I can think of no decision in the past few years that was made for my good by my government. I know too that many,many people feel the same. But what is worse, we feel unable to do anything about it.

Personally, I have attended marches, been to a major International Peace Conference, written countless letters to politicians and media and signed a ridiculous number of petitions - and nothing happened. My voice is not heard. My anger with the government grew even more when I recently searched Google for anti-war/peace groups and well over 3 million appeared. All these groups have concerns about the legality of the war in Iraq and concern about impending wars in Syria and Iran . The issues move faster than the protesters can keep up with and again, no-one is listening anyway (except the 'intelligence' agencies who are spying on their own citizens).

I wondered how many it would take - how many anti-war/peace groups increase the volume and visibility enough so that governments can realise we are more against the war, than for. How can we make them see that the people who elected them disagree with the decisions they are making and the actions they are taking in their citizens' names? I don't want my tax each week to kill an innocent civilian, mis-informed soldier or anyone else - I am responsible for this war waged by my government - in my name. I wish I wasn't.

So, to finally reach the point of this letter. How do you feel about the war in Iraq ? Would you like to have an end to it? Do you oppose your tax paying for it? Do you object to the death of our young soldiers? Do you object to the reasons for war? If you do want an end to the war in Iraq for any reason then please, please do me just one favour - one concerned human being for another - wear a strip of white fabric around your arm.

I realise it sounds small, insignificant and futile - but, I truly believe, that a show of opposition is essential in order to get media and government to be in a position where they can no longer ignore the many, many people who oppose this one point in unison. I realise there are so many issues that need to be tackled, but believe that tackling just one, gives us a united start. The reason a white armband of any fabric was chosen is important. I know that not all people the world over, who oppose the war in Iraq, can afford to attend demonstrations or spare the time, many people do not want to affiliate themselves with specific anti-war/peace groups as they may not agree the rest of the agenda, many people cannot spare the time to write letters, make calls and bother their (largely ignorant) governments who rarely, if ever respond - so a simple white piece of fabric is available to everybody, all the time, without purchase, without an agenda.

If you choose to wear the white armband you are saying just one thing "I WANT AN END TO THE WAR IN IRAQ". You are not agreeing to any agenda, movement or politics – you are acting as an individual saying just one thing "I WANT AN END TO THE WAR IN IRAQ". This form of voicing your opinion is a way to make this statement at all times, peacefully, until we are noticed. I know the instant response in your heart will be "what is the point?"….but please ignore that and just make this one move, take this one step in the direction you want the world to improve. No war in Iraq would be a start – and a start is exactly what we need, at this moment, to begin. This is a highly visible way to show the governments that their people object in large numbers, to the actions they are taking. Please, please join me – if only to make one person happy J

If ALL the Unified Settlement has done so far is to be part of the inspiration behind Arms Against War, then it has helped to make a difference.

All along, I've wondered what it would take to begin to get the people united. The answer turns out to be very simple. Find something that at least half of us feel strongly about, create a simple expression for that sentiment, and set it loose.

It is a beginning.

"...and I might not get there with you, but I want you to know, tonight, that we as a people will get to the Promised Land!" -- Martin Luther King Jr., less than 24 hours before his assassination.

Just before that, of course, he said, "...I have SEEEEEEEN -- the Promised Land."

What I feel that many people don't understand is that the Promised Land he was speaking of is Heaven on Earth. Many see him as having been a deeply religious, deeply spiritual man, and that he was, but he was also a human activist -- and a visionary.

MLK stood for the same things I stand for. I won't compare myself to him (though I'm soon to turn 39, the age at which he was so senselessly murdered, and our birthdays are only a few days apart), but if I were to choose only one hero, Dr. King might be it.

For the record, his birthday is January 15th, a fact obscured by this country's predilection for celebrating official holidays on Mondays. In case you're curious, mine's January 18th, and yes last year I declared it an 'official' Unified Settlement holiday, "Founder's Day", second only to "Settlement Day", which this year will be the 2nd anniversary of the founding of this Nation of Earth, February 27th 2004.

Realizing I'm now the approximate age of Dr. King when his activism caused 'them' to decide he should no longer live is strangely similar to my experience of the 'suiciding' of Kurt Cobain -- he was about my age at the time.

Do I feel old? A couple of my contemporaries are Janet Jackson and Tony Hawk. Are they 'old'?

There's a bit of a Logan's Run thing going on these days. No, I don't mean that people are customarily volunteering to end their lives at 30, but that there seems to be a similar obliteration of history. Maybe I don't know much from personal experience -- Dr. King was killed while I was still in diapers -- but I pay attention to history, because "Those who cannot learn from the past are doomed to repeat it."

Now, in whose interest is it that the each successive generation knows less and less about what came before? In whose interest is it to keep the general population ignorant of the lessons of history?

Does public school, and for that matter do expensive college and university courses help students understand what really happened, and why -- or do they give brief overviews and stress memorization of names and dates, instead of exploring the reasons behind events, and their impact?

If people really understood how we got to where we are and why, they absolutely would not allow the current shenanigans of the power elite. Thus, such knowledge has been closely guarded.

Excuse me, but it is my assertion (and that of many others) that the public in general has been deliberately 'dumbed down'. Some have gone so far as to track down the machinations of this process, and the source of it...

If I were to name names and point fingers, some readers of this weblog might balk at the information and label me a 'conspiracy theorist' -- which of course I would object to, because I am one who has studied the FACTs of conspiracy, a conspiratologist.

So, without naming names, even the names of groups, I'll lay the situation out once again:

Even if power doesn't necessarily corrupt, we observe that the corrupt seek power. Morally bereft as they may be, a lot of 'them' are very clever. And, just like anyone else, they seek out those of like mind. Then, instead of getting together and planning something beneficial to all, they will get together and scheme to benefit themselves -- not only with disregard to Joe Average, but with intent to exploit him, manipulate him, make him do their dirty work, give him a false ideology that serves their own purposes.

The very nature of their plans and schemes means that they must be made in secret -- defining their activities as conspiracy. 'They' thrive on deceit. They lie, they cheat, they steal, they threaten, they ruin lives, and they kill. The end, for 'them', always justifies the means.

They are heartless, almost soulless.

If you can understand that such people exist, and that some of them are very clever, and that they are able to form secret organizations, perhaps you can also understand that they have existed for a very, very long time. Maybe you can see that their organizations are made to appear beneficial, a deception that allows for their continued operation.

Can you imagine how long it's been going on? If so, expand that exponentially. Tempus Edax Rerum -- time devours all -- is a Latin phrase. Eventually, people will forget the lessons of the past -- at least, 'they' hope so, and will do what they can to ensure that it IS so.

If we can't recognize what THEY have done before, how will we know when it's being done to us again?

One thing 'they' have apparently not considered is that the concept of right & wrong is something that can be refined by LOGIC. Therefore those who are more clever than 'they' are can invariably be found within the opposition, the resistance.

It is unfortunate that those with a good sense of what is right and what is wrong tend to give others the benefit of the doubt. We are, to a fault, too trusting. It is difficult for us to see the motivations of the criminal mind. It's all too easy to view reports of conspiracy as 'crazy theory', especially when 'they' are clever enough to cover their tracks fairly well.

Yet, 'they' have become quite arrogant as they gain more and more power, nearly flaunting their actions. In this, the Information Age, they have 'blown their cover', and the word is spreading quickly.

Dr. King was right. We, as a people, WILL get to the Promised Land. It's just around the corner, and only 'they' and their deception stand in our way.

Time devours all, including the reign of the wicked.

What Is the Unified Settlement?

The Unified Settlement was founded February 27th, 2004, in response to the question, "What are ya gonna do about it?"

If a global, peaceful, freedom-based nation isn't exactly an original idea, neither was it copied from anything else. The concept is too obvious not to have been thought up by many others, however separated by time and space. I'll freely admit to having been influenced by things I've read, then and now. We reach ever higher by standing on the shoulders of our predecessors.

The idea seemed right to me, so I went with it. Given the grip the power elite have over us, here on Earth where we are SETTLED, if the many are to be free from the relative few, those many must become UNIFIED. Activism is a good thing, but if activist individuals and groups were to realize that all their causes could be served by joining together, their combined power would assuredly change the world.

Think about that for a moment. All these causes -- What is the source of the problems they are trying to solve? In nearly every case, you will find government involved, either directly or indirectly. This is not a knee-jerk reaction, but a carefully considered position.

There was a time when I thought a direct democracy would be best, but it was pointed out to me that direct democracy invariably leads to 'mob rule', bringing everything down to the lowest common denominator. When I had to admit that people were in fact easily swayed, through propaganda and other means, I began to wonder if there could be any form of government that would be immune to corruption.

Another definition of 'mob rule' might be 'under the control of organized crime'. Well? Can someone tell me that the major governments of this world are not criminal organizations? Is government not a magnet for corruption?

Yes, there are some who seek office because they genuinely wish to be public servants. Some of them even manage to keep from being bribed or coerced into 'the family' and 'their' way of doing things. That rare beast, the actual public servant, is more likely to be found at the local level. The higher up they go, the more pressure they face to toe the 'company' line.

I happen to live in West Virginia, one of the United States that all too many Americans don't seem to know exists -- they think the name of the state simply refers to the western part of Virginia, which settlers west of the mountains first attempted to become seperate from as early as 1776. In 1783 they wanted to call it "Westsylvania" -- I suppose if that were the name today it would get confused with 'Wrestlemania'... Anyway it took another 80 years and a civil war (an oxymoron if ever there was one) for statehood to finally be granted. Some of our governors haven't exactly been ones to be proud of, but now we have Joe Manchin III, who is in my estimation one of those rare beasts -- an actual public servant, a real person who genuinely cares about other people.

If government were largely comprised of such men (and women), we would effectively have 'official activism' -- government representatives would more often than not do their best to, well, REPRESENT the people and SOLVE problems instead of creating them. However, this not being a perfect world, it is the greedy, corrupt, and power-hungry who are in control.

Sad, but true.

It is very possible for local governments to be kept in check, but less and less likely that governments can be accountable, the larger and larger they get. Thus it is the largest which must be dissolved first.

Do we need a United Nations? Do we need a European Union? Do we need individual nations, or even states and provinces? Do we even need cities to operate as anything but public service corporations? These are things for the people to decide, when they finally get it through their heads that big government is a big self-serving lie.

The Unified Settlement is NOT a government. As a global nation, it knows no boundaries. As workers unionize to keep from being taken advantage of by corporations, so must we all band together to reverse oppression by the power elite.

'They' have used every trick they could think of to fool us into giving them more and more power. WE have to stand up and demand our true freedom.

WE are the Unified Settlement.

Anarchy vs Chaos

I can almost hear them now...

"Oh Gosh. Really? Eliminate government? But, but... Don't we need it? For this, that, and the other thing?"

Yes, really. And no, we don't. I didn't start out as an anarchist, but the more I looked, the more I saw that, beyond being unnecessary, government is generally a bad idea.

I'm not saying we wouldn't have problems if we didn't have government. What I AM saying is that all our biggest problems are caused by it. You may ask, "Is there not some form of government we can adopt, that will only be beneficial and can never be corrupted?" As an answer, I would ask if you have ever heard of such a government, and whether you really think that's possible.

Out there in our galaxy, the other sentient beings must have come to some kind of collective understanding. Being more advanced and more experienced than we are, if not more intelligent, we can assume that they learned their lessons about government long ago. Maybe they have some kind of system they can teach us, that actually works...

...and maybe that system involves personal responsibility and self-governance.

My 1967 edition of Webster's defines anarchy as "the complete absence of government and law." Chaos, on the other hand, is defined as "any great confusion or disorder." Somewhere along the line, people began to equate anarchy with chaos. In fact, if you go to Dictionary.com, you will find "Political disorder and confusion" as one of the entries. Then, if you use the thesaurus feature, you will find 'anarchy' and 'chaos' as the first synonyms listed for one another.

Something tells me that government encourages us to think that life without it would be chaotic. Certainly they approve of the word 'anarchy' holding a negative connotation. And, though several examples of successful anarchies exist in history -- their downfall invariably being the introduction of government -- we can't expect our children to learn about them in government-sponsored public schools.

Cities exist as corporations. They are run much like businesses, and it is not difficult to imagine them continuing on in the absence of a State and/or national government. In many municipal areas, citizens are not taxed for water, sewer, police and trash collection, but pay monthly fees. Their transition from municipal government to 'municipal services corporation' should be a simple one.

You might ask how roads would be built, and who would maintain them, without government. Toll roads would be one solution, but that goes against our basic freedom to travel. Would large corporations not step up to sponsor highways? Could advertisement sales not pay for maintenance?

My point is that an anarchic society does not have to descend into chaos. People are very resourceful. Imaginative solutions will be found for the new problems we'll be faced with.

The larger a government becomes, the tighter its grip will be on its people. Where the State professes to serve its people, the opposite becomes true, and the people become unwitting slaves of the State.

Right now you might be wondering about the title of this blog. Nation of Earth? Can we have a nation without government? Yes, we can. The first definition in my '67 Webster's for 'nation' is "a stable, historically developed community of people with a territory, economic life, culture, and language in common." The third is "a people or tribe." We may not all speak the same language, or use the same currency, or enjoy the same culture -- and we probably don't want to -- but our shared territory is the surface of Earth, and like it or not, that makes us one people.

We need not fear other Earthlings just because they are different. Fear in general, for that matter, is something to be avoided as vigilantly as government. Governments prey upon our fears in order to exact their rule over us.

That, by the way, is the definition of 'terrorism'.

When the Levee Breaks

Lizzie Douglas, better known as Memphis Minnie, was born in Algiers, Louisiana, in 1897. Led Zeppelin's 1971 recording of her song, When the Levee Breaks, came some 42 years after it was first etched in vinyl.

If you have no idea about what life was once like in Algiers, or in nearby New Orleans, it might help to rent a movie which recently came out on video, Skeleton Key. Watched it myself the other night and came to a realization...

Now, this won't make a lick of sense unless you accept that someone out there is using weather control as a weapon against the people. This has to do with 'their' agenda.

You may ask, IF such technology exists AND is being used in this manner, why target New Orleans? Beyond the obvious geographical reasons, there is something else -- something much more significant.

Let's begin with a couple of raw definitions from Dictionary.com:

Yes, here we go deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, further and farther from what 'normal' people discuss, and into serious intangibility. Bear with me...

As previously mentioned in this space, some of us have been doing what we can to mitigate the effects of engineered weather (and triggered earthquakes). This is done with our minds, and with help from the spirit realm.

IF there is a group in charge of engineering weather, and IF they know that human thought, with assistance, is capable of disrupting their plans, striking at an area where voodoo and hoodoo thrive would be an obvious strategy.

Voodoo, after all, is about keeping balance with nature -- and 'they' are in the business of disrupting nature.

It has been said that 'they' planned to turn Hurricane Epsilon into a crazy winter disaster for the southern United States. Well, we're just not going to let that happen. Their counterparts in earthquake triggering wanted to hit California hard last month -- with help, we kept those efforts from becoming more than tremors. Next on the agenda are a series of quakes in the Mississippi Valley, along the New Madrid fault line. They won't have very good luck with that project, either.

Shortly after Memphis Minnie and her second of three husbands, Kansas Joe, recorded When the Levee Breaks, they moved to Chicago.

Members of the Unified Settlement helped foil plans to stage a 'terrorist' attack on Chicago's Sears Tower once already, nearly two years ago. Wheels have already been set in motion to prevent 'their' second attempt, scheduled for on or around Easter 2006.

You don't have to be able to see and touch things to know that they are real. It's all there in the music, if you listen.

Recipe For Disaster

Many are of the opinion that this world is on a path to destruction. Even the most optimistic among us will have to admit that things will most likely get worse before they can get better.

At this point we ask, "Why is this so?"

If government is detrimental to human existence, and is more and more so as it becomes larger and larger, how do you suppose it is affecting us today? In our time, government is poised to claim total dominance over the lives of everyone on the planet.

If you, the reader, do not see this encroaching threat, it is because government has a way of manipulating public opinion. Far worse than that, it has a tendency to keep secrets -- and the bigger the government, the bigger the secrets. If you think for a moment that those powerful and influential secret-keepers aren't going behind our backs to institute their New World Order, then perhaps you have been distracted by something else. Don't feel bad -- the power elite are very good at giving us lots of distractions.

When you consider what kind of person it takes to become even a minor player in the environment of world domination, when you catch a glimpse of the greed and disregard for human life that darken the souls of the power elite and their minions, you begin to understand the peril. To put it simply, they will stop at nothing.

Who am I? What is the Unified Settlement?

I'm just someone who saw that there wasn't enough being done. I saw a possible solution to our problem, and the Unified Settlement is it. We are all settled here on the surface of Earth. This is our home. Unless enough of us become unified against what government plans to do, the power elite will succeed in their plans, and the entire planet will be claimed by one global State. If more wars are needed for that to happen, more wars will be started. If martial law needs to be implemented, excuses will be found to implement it.

I repeat: They will stop at nothing.

Among the secrets they keep from us are technologies capable of triggering earthquakes and manipulating the weather. As evidence to the latter, I present Hurricane Epsilon and the sheer number and strength of named storms that have shattered previous records. Never in history have they run out of names and had to begin using Greek letters, and now they've used 5 of them.

If more disasters are needed, for whatever reason, more disasters will be created.

Or, at least, attempts will be made to create disasters. We don't have to allow that to happen. Some of us are doing what we can to put a stop to their efforts.

Much in the same way, we don't have to allow the power elite to continue taking away our freedoms. Government is supposedly in the service of its people -- those of us who see it isn't must alert our neighbours. If our governments cannot be made to serve us, perhaps they should be dissolved.

People are perfectly capable of governing themselves.

The Unified Settlement, though it is a global organization, does not seek to govern people. As founder, the only reward I expect is that which will be shared worldwide. I do not wish to be crowned Emperor or appointed to a global Presidency. I do not, for that matter, wish to be in a position of leadership.

Founding the Unified Settlement was simply something I felt I had to do. Continuing with its development still feels like the RIGHT thing to do.

It's not too late to turn the tables.

The Nightwatch

While others cling to a tight schedule, up & at 'em every morning and into bed around the same time every night, some of us pay less attention to the clock.

Some of us prefer to be awake at night. There are instances where it is necessary to have someone keep vigil while others slumber.

The world is different at night; Quieter, more mysterious. Without the noise, without the light, it is easier to concentrate.

It seems the whole population has been sleeping. Our global patchwork of differently engineered societies manages to keep the majority of people in a sort of hypnotic trance. Meanwhile, as if by cover of darkness, the power elite and their minions continue with their evil ways.

Regardless of your diurnal habits, or lack thereof, if you are aware of such conspiratorial activity, you can be considered part of the Nightwatch. We keep vigil while others slumber.

In general, humans dwelling on the surface of this Earth are experiencing an awakening -- in more sense than one.

Not only are more of us learning about the things that have been going on behind our backs, and that much of what we have accepted as fact is a pack of lies -- there is another aspect, another facet, a whole other side to the awakening.

People are waking up to the spiritual, the metaphysical. Name any psychic ability - we are discovering them, developing them, and unlearning the things that have blocked our awareness and use of them.

Thus, predictions and warnings in my previous posts here can be viewed with a little less alarm.

I'm not saying that 'they' don't still plan to do those things, and more. It's just that we have found ways to counter their actions.

Last night, 'they' TRIED to trigger a megaquake in California, as planned -- and as foreseen by some of us on the Nightwatch. Some rumblings of about 3 on the Richter scale were felt, but that was all that the earthquake triggering equipment could manage before 'malfunctioning'.

As 'far out' as all this may sound, these activities are indeed VERY REAL. If you are reading this and cannot accept it, you are not on the Nightwatch and don't need to concern yourselves. The threat will be quietly handled.

No need to thank us as you sit in traffic on your way to your position as a wage slave, or as you shop for your family at a Wal-Mart that may have been reduced to rubble by now, had we not taken the appropriate measures.

We don't do what we do for reward. We have volunteered. For us, there is no choice.

Eventually 'they' will have to be exposed. The wheels have already been set in motion for exposure and disclosure. We will sit back an watch as this happens, not expecting to have parades and parties thrown in our honour.

As more and more join us, of course, we will become more and more powerful. The twisted little minds of the power elite are not prepared for this opposition. They will slink away in the night, with their heads down and their tails between their legs, defeated.

Fighting For Peace

Doesn't sound right, does it?

It's okay if your 'fight' is a struggle, a series of determined actions, a challenge to be met -- but can a goal of peace really be used as an excuse for combat?

It doesn't seem to make sense. If you want someone to calm down and listen to reason, you don't start shooting at him. If you want a group of people to NOT hate you, you don't blow up their village.

Can any 'war on terror' ever be won? Isn't war one of the most terrifying things imaginable? Okay, if there are real terrorists out there, who simply cannot be reasoned with, maybe they should be hunted down. Declaring war on a whole country, though? Is that ever really necessary? By doing that, aren't you just creating more terror, and more reasons to be hated and attacked?

Dictionary.com defines 'terrorism' as: "The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons." Perhaps many have sidestepped the 'unlawful' part -- when you make your own laws, nothing you do ends up being illegal -- but the rest of the definition fits. The most prevalent form of government in this world is TERRORISM.

How is such a problem solved? John F. Kennedy had a pretty good handle on things when he said, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." Today we might say we have nothing to be terrified about but terror itself, but the fact of the matter is that the world is in the hands of some seriously twisted individuals.

The only way I see out of this situation, where terror is being spread worldwide, is to conquer fear. That, however, is only the first step. Beyond a lack of fear, we must have the courage and resolve to stand up to those who would attempt to frighten us into submission.

Taking a stand isn't something that's easy to do alone. We need a support network. We need to know there are others who feel the way we do, and who will take action with us. Since the problem itself appears difficult to identify, the network can also serve to educate others about the solution.

When I founded the Unified Settlement, early in 2004, the discovery of many similar movements was encouraging. What most of them seem to lack, however, is a basic understanding of what is at the root of all our problems.

Without that knowledge, activism is like attacking an iceberg with a blow-dryer.

The conspirators can allow a moral victory here and there. It's important to keep the oppressed hopeful. "Let them go on fighting their causes," they might whisper,"Keep them busy, so they don't discover the real truth..." They can afford to be smug. Within their group of secret societies, much of this world is under their control. They can pretty much do whatever they want, and it seems no one can stop them.

I've quoted this Pirelli Tire slogan many times: POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT CONTROL. We need to find a way to make things very slippery for the conspirators, the power elite. Considering their grip on the mainstream media, exposing them involves the alternative media, part of which is right here -- the 'blogosphere'. Another possibility is garnering the attention and participation of celebrities and other media professionals (producers, directors, agents, etc). Many of them are already involved in one form of activism or another, wanting to 'give something back'...

Of course we can bet that a few of them are riding in the hip pockets of the power elite, and that some of their charities serve mostly to divert funds (don't get me started about money -- that's for another post) and/or create tax loopholes (don't get me started about taxes yet, either).

World peace depends, to put it simply, on the people becoming aware of what the real reasons for war are. Further, they should know that they have been systematically deceived, and by WHOM. If some of us feel unbridled hatred toward others of us, the ultimate cause of that hatred needs to be examined.

As always, there is the question, "Who benefits?" The power elite benefit from war in many ways, just as they benefit from other conspiracies I'll cover in this space.

Part of it for them, I imagine, is the thrill of victory. Perhaps they feel much like we do when we pull off a good prank.

They've punked us enough. Time to retaliate.
